I haven't done that mod yet.

Right now, I have them configured thusly:

baseplate
---
two thin, flat washers
---
green Stim' bushing
---
hanger
---
soft/red Indy top bushing
---
cup washer & nut

The goal was to keep the bottom bushing/washer combo the same height as the stock combo, so as not to alter the trucks' geometry. A longer kingpin (2.25") was required, however, to allow for a taller top bushing (grinds aren't a concern in this application).

This combination turns on the proverbial dime! I'm running +5 wedge/front and -5/rear, and it's almost too turny (on my S9 Trylam). I may swap out the green Stim's for blue ones, and try running the front truck "flat" or "neutral."

I just got my core trucks mounted up on my Mini Carve last night and man does it look cool! Max and I commented that if it ride as nice as it looks we will be very happy.

I picked up the Mini Carve from a mnt bike shop that has a small sk8board section. the had canabilized the board for wheels and trucks. He sold it for $35.00! It is the one that is black with the red graphics. So the Core trucks with the black base plates and red bushings looks awesome. I rode it just a tiny bit on my FLAT street and it felt great, but will give a full report once I get it out for a session.

Nice price on that deck!

Make sure you replace the stock kingpins, however. It's a quick/easy mod, and the baseplate is cast to accept a hex-head bolt.

I really like the low height with the Cores. I'm running soft wedge risers, and it's a good combo.

Hey, so my ghetto trucks aren't so ghetto after all! Nice

I've got the 7 inch trucks as well...
My first longboard trucks, and I'm pretty pleased with them... mounted on a S9 concave pin.

Mark: any bushing suggestions for a 200+ pound rider, for CORE trucks?

...oh, and you're running two flat washers because the stim was shorter than the stock bushing? ...I've currently got the stock white bushings in, but I think it may be time to buy a khiro kit...

The best bargain for replacement/upgrade bushings are Indy reds, or orange if you like your trucks a little stiffer.

hey. i'm new to longboarding and after reading this thread i ordered a pair of cores. i was just wondering if you could maybe elaborate on the process of installing 2 bushings on the bottom and only one on the top. it sounds like a good setup and i would like to possibly try it on mine.

thanks.

My crappy MOOSE board came with core trucks, the only way they could be useable is with a longer kingpin (standard on is super short) and if you rteplaced the bushing ones (stock ones seam super hard) but other than that they are half way decent.

EDIT: WARNING, unless they've changed it, the pivot cup blows, it starts to come out after a few weeks of riding, so be advised.

only a 3 year reserection, you just need a longer kingpin, and you can put as many bushings on as you want

i usualy get a 3 inch, but they are so cheap you can get a few, its like .20 cents each, and then try them on the bottom, that is what htey are talking about here, but also on the top, or whatever, it all works, and just makes it a little different turn.. its fun to play with for sure. just get stuff and start playing
