anyone have any experience with these trucks. sector 9 has replaced the pivot trucks on their completes with these. would i be going to far by saying that this was an improvement?

I have 2 sets of Gullwing Super Pro III's and they're really nice once you get them dialed in bushing wise. I think they're pretty old though, don't know about the newer models.

The M1 and Alpine are pretty much "brand new" to the market. I have to think that ANY change that replaces the "Pivot" trucks is an improvement, and it's killer to see S9 with Randals on some of their decks, now.

The "Mission 1" Gullwings are shipping on Dregs boards, and I just saw a set of them. They use either a plastic or resin-coated baseplate, have a textured casting and generally look good. That's all I got.

    Oh, wait. I got this.

They're a bent pivot traditional truck. I'll bet the stock bushings bite... just like every other truck I've ridden.....

Speaking of which, the only trucks I've been able to ride stock are Seismics...

Yep, I've ridden the M-1. My wife got a S9 Cosmic Two with them on it. And as expected the stock bushings are horrible. Way too soft to prevent wheel bite. They might as well of wrapped rubber bands around the kingpin. However, swapping them out with just about anything decent yielded a good ride. I don't know how they would hold up on a park/pool board but for cruising they do their job just fine. If you like the feel of an angled pivot and you can get them at a good price I think they'd be fine. I'm pretty loyal to Indy (I just like them), but would happily use a set of M-1s if I had them.

The stock bushings are smooth, but the only way I could ride them (at 180lbs) would be on a downhill board (or something with no material at all above the wheels).

my friend just got a sector9 cloud9 with those on it. Rebound is horrible with those bushings, the board stays put after its been pressed to turn. Smooth ride and pretty easy to carve/turn with, i didnt really experience any wheel bite riding it, but thats me.

The board stays put because when you turn on those trucks the bottom bushing pops out of place. Its not flat, the bushing is in a little cup that it doesnt like to stay in. I think this puts more stress on the kingpin.

    Default Gullwing M1 bushing problem

i've noticed on the gully's that when you flex them out to the side, the barrell bushing pops out of the recess causing a wierd loss of stability and a funny 'crack' sound. Now I know you can change out the bushings, but i think i'd be rather wary of a truck that has a recess for the bearing. Will this limit your turnability? Or the style of bushings that you can use? I just bought the new S9 City Crusher, and it has those trucks. Thinking of putting some 135 siesmics on it instead.
