Default The life span of bushings?

I almost directly replaced my standard randal bushings with harder khiro bushings becouse they deformed too much and was too soft and wobbly for my preference.

With time, the new bushings grew softer (luckily, in the same pace as i learned to handle my increasingly turny board). When i took my trucks apart after a summer of very frequent riding, i noticed that the bushings where very deformed, adapted to the holes in my trucks and shorter than they used to be.
Turning have also began to feel quite strange - the board is quite turny and delicate when i'm trying to turn a little, but when i'm pulling a sharp carve, there is a lot of resistance when i'm trying to lean much.

For how long do you guys use a pair of bishings? Are my finished or miss-used? Should i buy softer ones and tighten them up (wich i guess would make them deform even more) or harder ones and have my trucks really loose?

    ive never seen that

ive got bushings from 1975 that are still going strong

your problem is probably that you tightened them too much

Yes, time to replace your bushings, they've lost their rebound. Khiro insert bushings are apparently susceptible to deforming due to the metal piece squishing into the urethane (eventually the urethane gets permanently squished leading them to be deformed, shorter than original, and not having any progressive give to them like you said). Yes don't overtightening your trucks, I did the exact same thing when I started out.

most definatly bushings have a life span...the only bushings out there that i have neer seen lose their rebound after a few months are trackers...but sadly those are no longer around. an easy way to keep your bushings from wearing out so far is get harder..medium...bushings and leave your trucks lose, for the harder the urathane the more duable it is.

thats some good advice pinball. i have gone that route without ever really thinking about it, it all started with the way to soft khiro white (not insert) bushings. i think khiro needs a duro inbetween the white and the blue. blue is too hard and white is too soft, damn!
