    Ours are 3/8-24 tpi (aka, UNF). Works great when you have a kingpin that's slightly too long, and you have a hard time getting the skate tool onto the kingpin nut.

    The thinnest we've found are commonly referred to as jam(b) nuts. These are the ones that nearly all truck manu's spec/use. You might be able to find a jam(b)-style nut w/o a nyloc insert--for a shorter height--but I doubt it would stay put.
