Are they worth that much? Phht who knows. If I was racing professionally and actually making some jack by winning and I thought I could get an edge by using them then yeah they're worth it. Or some other custom truck. Or I was a AM that wanted to get sponsored and go big time it might be.

For the other 99.99% of us I'd say it's way overkill.

I'm no authority but I would assume they're better made, with better materials, closer tolerances. Interchangeable axles, spherical bearings in the hanger etc.

Kind of like having a Honda motor in your car and comparing it to one in an F1 (okay maybe that's a little over the top ) but the concept's the same.

I heard they are twitchy because of the spherical bearing in the hangar. I have yet to ride the hangars so i'm not really sure.

I've tried 3 sets here in toronto.

    Civs, Adams, and Mikes.

Civ's are pure sex, Adams are messed up and track to the left (probably a baseplate thing, he's using r1's) and mikes are so-so.

not twitchy at all. i've ridden pierre's and they were very stable. i went faster than i ever have on his flushcut and didn't get any wobble even though my heart was pounding like crazy :)

    Arent they like 225 EACH?

You could get two sets of comp 2's for that. The only thing missing is the sphereical bearing.

I am a big fan of these trucks, stable as hell, but responsive(not to be confused with twitchy) The straight axels, choice of axels widths and diameters are really nice. The grip level is insane compared to randals, and sliding is very very predictable. All in all AWESOME TRUCKS, and I have ridden a lot of trucks.

You probably heard that from Panda, he bought a set from me and did not like them, he rode them with RII baseplates, 50 degrees is not a DH geometry in my opinion.
