    Default Strokers

Have any of you ridden on Stroker trucks?
They were a complex-looking split-axle spring and linkage design that sold for big bucks in the mid '70s and sell for ridiculously huge bucks now. I've only seen them used by downhillers back in the day.

What I'd love to see, since it's unlikely I'll ever ride them, is a write-up by the Consortium on what the things are really like to ride, using up-to-date wheels and deck for a fair comparison...

About the only people I ever heard that had them were Terry Nails and Craig Chaquico. For the life of me I've never seen any one else ever say they've ridden them.

Totally awesome trucks.... especially considering how old they are.

I'd love to try a pair of those... or maybe just one as a front truck.

herb at skatewerks, made a pair of stroker trucks, the rebound and "pumpability" of the trucks was crazy, u get into a pump from not moving with ease, he was also going to make another pair that didnt have as high rebound so they would be a little nicer for carving or somethin

    jeez herbs amazing

I have ridden them, and yes they are nucking futs. Not only does the hanger pivot, but your wheels also move back and forth, to maximise pumping and total awesomeness.

I wouldn't doubt it, there is alot of little parts in there, and if one breaks the whole thing is ****ed.

By "new" do you mean ones they are making now, or the last model they made? Becuase if they are still available, I WANT SOME!

I had a set of them, and originally mounted them on a Fiberflex Hester model. I didn't like them and ended up using 1 on the front os a speed board with a fixxed axle on the rear..
Stable ,but sooo noisy. They were heavy as well. I ended up selling them to a guy in Wisc. or Minn. a few years ago. I thought they were more of an oddity than anything...Well engineered tho.

i have a set of them but haven't ridden them in 25 years. too much metal to metal contact so there's a lot of clicking going on as well as that strange sound it's springs make. very little lean for the amout of turn you can get so you can get tossed if you have them front and back. otherwise they are worth their weight in mold. btw... they are heavy too.
if you can't understand what's right...
