You are in trouble if you want to wedge randals to carve more. Randal 180s are already at an angle of 55* i think. Wedges do almost nothing as they are already very turny. I am not sure what would happen if you wedged them for a higher degree, but i am sure that it wont make the difference you are looking for. You can however dewedge the randal rII trucks for a more stable ride.

Wedging Randals made them feel less turny to me. The hanger gets almost perpendicular with the ground making turning harder I think. I didn't try dewedging them to see how that works.

I'd say go with some different bushings or different trucks. I find that Randal RII's tend to react a bit sluggish if your looking for quick turns. Seismics react quickly (esp the quick 45 geometry ones). A good set of properly wedged regular trucks can turn quick. Like a Tracker or Indy or something.

Wedging randalls once will make them turn better, wedging randalls twice will make them amazingling turny, wedging randalls 3 times makes them turn like 1 wedge but it will be really flicky and wobble at low speeds, especially on a rough surface.

I have a board running at the moment with a 60cm wheelbase a double wedged front and a single back, white khiro backs and homemade rubber front bushings (about 45 duro)

It turns on a dime and then some, but it takes a bit to get used to and isnt easy.

I think that wedging is actually kinda important if you're riding a deck with a lot of camber. I have my r2 180s on my custom wedged in the front and dewedged in the rear to make the front steering more responsive and to detune the rear (cuz the flex makes it go past flat)
I think LBL boards have this wedge setup recommended on them as well. I'd be careful about wedging on a smaller board though cuz it might just make your trucks too twitchy.

try replacing your bushings with softer bushungs...for wedging randals to be more turny is like flossing a dead horse.

What I don't understand is why many boards that come stock with randalls also have angled baseplates.

I almost think it's just a selling point for first time longboarders.. "hey look, its even got longboard risers"

My 45" Commet Pin had angled risers.. first thing I did was take um off, and replace the bearings.
