I'm totally divided between Crail's and Randal 180's!!
I like them both the same way I guess...

Man, that's tough: there are several trucks there I haven't ridden yet, and a few that I might never ride.

Of the trucks I've tried, my vote goes for the Maguns. Been hearing very good things about the Radikals though..

i think this should be split into two categories - high end (jim z, magun, radikal, etc) and average (randal, holey, crail, etc). to be honest, none of them hold up against maguns, if youre ignoring price

So you've found the Maguns ride better than the Force trucks?

Trick question, but you see the issue: it's hard to compare when so many of these are very rare.

Yeah, thats why I am not voting, since randals are the only ones I've ever ridden, just dosen't seem fair to vote against a truck I have never tried.

Randals work, and I have a few sets so haven't bothered to try others. If I want something else, there's torsions or those other kinds.

The QC on Crails is excellent. I'd like to see slightly longer axles (maybe 1/8" longer) to accommodate Biltins and Rims, and possibly larger bushing seats, but those are minor nits I'm picking.

I may be becoming complacent, but I think that Randal QC may be getting better. Things appear to be lining up better, so who knows...

The quick way to make Randals ride much, much better is to toss out the stock kingpins, cup washers, and bushings. Replace with 2.75" grade-8 kingpins, blue Tracker Stim's top and bottom, and flat washers (instead of cups). Unless you're under 150#, the combination is sublime.

Concerning the high-end trucks I'm not so sure that Maguns are the best. They have a different drilling pattern compared to other trucks and they don't have any spherical bearings anywhere (good thing IMO, but some people wanna get rid of that slop). I've also spoken with people who've tried both Maguns and Radikals, who claim that Radikals come out on top. Either way, it's how you ride that matters, not what truck you have. Favourites however, are a completely different matter! Maguns all the way 8)

Thaison, why don't you like the spherical bearings in hangers?

The Crails do work with Biltins right? Just not with Biltins and rims as well. Also I saw a post a while back about the crail kinkpin being slightly larger then the norm. Can you still use a grade 8 kingpin or do you need something else.

I have Gumballs with Biltins on Crails, right now. No problemo.

The baseplate accepts a Grade 8, no problem, too.

I thought I'd mention, that even tho crails are better. I like how many different kinds of Randal truck there are. From Luge to DH baseplates and a variety of different hangars makes them very mission specific!

Right now I'm running a luge baseplate up front on one board, and a dh back, its craaaazooo.

Now, if crail starts diversifying, then I'm fully replacing all my randals... they are just TOO hot.

I haven't ridden many of the trucks in the poll but.....

I just put Holeys on and for whatever reason they're excellent. To be honest they really shouldn't perform any differently that Randals but they do IMHO. It must be the bushings.

I don't get that either they're too loose and sloppy feeling or they're too tight and unresponsive feeling I get with Randals. Not to say you can't alleviate those conditions with other bushings but why should you have to is more the question.

Holeys work "right out of the box" for me.

Biltins, Crails, and Rims doesn't give enough nylon/nyloc engagement, however.

Well, mainly because it's another factor to consider. I want things as simple as possible. I wouldn't mind a CNC milled truck, but I wouldn't want to need to tinker with it too much, like with the Luge trucks or Comp-IIs. I don't know how much attention spherical bearings in either baseplate or hanger would need, or how often they need to be changed (if at all), but that's just it - they'd need some tinkering, and that's exactly what I get enough of when I change bearings/wheels
