Default Have you ever seen a truck like this?

Ok. i got an idea for some new trucks. ive never seen anything similar, but maybe you have. i have built a prototype board out of legos, and it was incredible.

    the design:
the blue things are a torsion cup. two on each truck. the coolest thing about this board, is that the deck swings to the outside of the axle as you lean. so it rides like a dropped deck. another good feature is that it eliminates wheelbite. on the lego board i made, the turnning radius was 2 inches. and the wheelbase was about 12 inches. obviously, that wouldn't be to useful in real life, but it show what it would be capable of. heres a pic in Paint of the design.

well, crap. i cant do that. ok. ill try to explain it until the attachments are working again.

side veiw: (o) is a wheel / is on of the swingarms

    _____
    /
    (o) /

Back veiw: [ ] are wheels / and \ are the swing arms. ----- is the axle
    _____
    / \
    / \
    [ ]----------------[ ]

hope u understand. i had a real nice pic draw too.

looks kind like a different version of the BMW streetcarver trucks if I understand your diagram.

Would it be hard to make an animated gif of that? I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly how they would work, though it seems like an interesting concept.

probly woldnt be hard for a normal person, but i dont have a clue about stuff like that. ill post some more diagrams in a few minutes. it is a similar system to the street carver, but it is not nearly the same.

ok. the truck consist of two arms connected to the axle. the other end othe arm is connected to the baseplate. the assymbly is angled forward (see above pic) The arms are attached farther apart on the axle than on the baseplate. and when you shift your weight to the outside of the board it turns and your center of gravity on board stays over the center of the axle. it swings out to the side, and eliminates ALL wheel bite. on the demo board i buit with legos, it looked like it would be very capable.
