    Default Wide trucks for Flywheels

I have a set of 90mm flywheels that I run on Randal DH (160mm) Does anyone here run a wider truck with 90mm? I have read that the 180 RII will bend with wheels over 83mm. I have seen pics with guys running luge hangers with DH baseplates but I can't tell if they are running bigger flys.

    I run 90's with dh's.
Depending on whether or not your really doing any hardcore riding, you probably won't bend a 180 hanger.

I would run luge hangers. then you can slide and beat the hell out of the wheels and not worry about bent axles. i was able to bend two 180 hangers with 83mm flys. get luge trucks, they are worth every penny

Being that I weigh in at 230lbs I think I would be able to bend a 180 before the average rider. ( I have to believe that I'm a little on the heavy side.)

...Crails are VERY sturdy...I am 195. I have my 90's on Crail's and there is worry of even coming close to bending an ax with Crail's.

I run 90mm Fllwheels on Crails on my EVO and I wieght 273lbs....there is no sign of bending at all. The Crails a beefy trucks. So are Force trucks as well if getting them from Austyralia is an option.

Also be sure to ru those big wheels with biltins as they take some of the twist out on hard corners.

    Default The Bends!

There so many variables involved with bending axles longboarding. Suffice to say, someone out there has broken every truck, with probably every truck/bigwheel combo possible. I think, if you are a bigger guy using Flywheels, and sliding alot on rough pavement, you will bend axles on most trucks! If you have been using your 90s with R1s for a while and haven't bent an axle, you should do fine with R2 180 hangers.

For me it was enough to send my board into a rock at the side of the road to bend my front R2 (with 101mm Flys on it). Better safe than sorry!
Is it some other steel in the DH axles? I've abused those a lot and they stay straight.

Are Crails wider than DH's? and do they have a 35% baseplate? I think once I get the cash up I'm going to hunt down some luge hangers 205cm. The only other truck I saw that might be wider was the Talon with the 1" axles but I don't know if that would be any stronger than RIIs.

    Default I forgot.

The Crail hangers are 180mm, and the base is 45(If I remember correctly). I have a set of Luge hangers/35 bases. I had them on a Flushcut this summer, with 83mm flys it was really nice! They are kinda wide if you use a backset wheel, but with a centerset they are great. The axles held up well for me.

    stick with your dh's
chicagolongboards- They had to kill the alligator. After he ate the rednecks limbs he got a taste for crack. Have you ever seen an alligator with a crack addiction? It's serious business seeing them hanging out in allies!;)

How much are you sliding or doing hard drifts? If you're just bombing with it I dont see why you would have a problem with 180 hangers. I have 180s and 90mm 78a fly's that i saftey slide and *attempt* to drift and they are no more bent than when i got them.

The talons have an 8mm axle. THey are tougher than an R2.
