Curved Randal?

So I got a MiniCarve from Gravity last week, and got it with Randals through their website. I was able to get rid of the kingpin rattle by disassembling and reassembling the trucks. All was good until I took a weird bounce, jumped off my ride, and watched it continue away from me in a nasty right curve. I thought I'd bent something, so I proceeded to give it a look over.

The back wheels were skewed to the side, slightly enough that I could notice it by looking directly down at them. Cursing myself, I take it home and take the back truck apart, to find...

The kingping hole on the baseplate isn't even centered on the centerline of the baseplate. Somehow the hole got drilled off center. Pictures forthcoming.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I'm not a numbers guy but something this glaringly wrong (it makes adjusting the rear truck take about 2 gallons of elbow grease) bothers me.

Yes it has happened to others. It is apart of Randal's QC problem.

I'd try to contact the Randal company about it. if they're cool, they should give u a new baseplate or something. that's pretty rediculous. they have some pretty serious QC issues.

I would assume my best bet is to return it to gravity if I got it through them?

yeah, see if gravity will do anything, and if they don't try Randal, because it really is their product, not gravity's.

seeing as crails only cost $16 more than randals, why not? you wouldn't not buy a deck if it was only $16 more...

trackers not only match up perfectly with the cutouts in the deck, but are also damn good trucks. wedge them and they'll ROCK.

Yeah, I'm toying with the idea of seeing if I can send the Randals back to Gravity and have them send me a set of Trackers. I've got 3 sets already throught them that came stock with hourglass bushings...

I figure the slight difference in price might cover their shipping, I hate causing trouble or the idea of asking for an outright return of the randals to try to get crails or holeys elsewhere

However, the more I think about it I'd love to never see a set of Randals again. 1 week is enough for me.
