That's kind of the most generic question anyone could ever ask... let us know what you're looking for in specific, and we can probably help you with truck and bushing choices

Cruising - Randals or some wide Trackers or Independents
Pool/park - Usually Trackers or Independents, Cores and Destructos are supposed to be good as well
Downhill - Randal DHs on a budget
Sliding - Usually park & pool trucks, but wider

It's all personal preference though. Some people can run Randals in a skatepark and have a blast. The one thing you can do is meet people with gear and try everything you can.

I forgot Seismics - they're usually used for cruising/carving as well, like a Randal type truck. Originals, Carvers, Revenges are all carving ONLY trucks. Again, its a really broad question - if you have a specific purpose you're looking for, we can help narrow down your options.

thanks your post help alot for a better understanding.... for a more narrow question are the trackers with an old alva board a nice way to go, in terms of pool skateing. i have asked so many people about the alva board and i have had alot of mixed answers i have been looking at the 1977 reissue

That's probably both too short and narrow to be comfortable in any type of pool. You should look for something around 33 to 36" in length, 8.5-9.5" in width, with 2 kicks and some good concave.

Im not sure what kind of pool skating you are gonna do with that reissue, but Tracker midtracks would be cool or Indy 109's if you can find them...

If you go with a "normal" pool deck like that, either get trackers if you want a more surfy feel, or indys, krux, etc. for more aggresive riding.

Oh, and 8.5 should be the absolute minium width for a pool deck. I like about 9.5w with at least a 16in wb.

right on .... the reissue actually comes standard with midtracks.... i might just have to by the board in general for the oldskool feel but i will def look around for some other pool decks....
