    Looks great.

"Missile Grade aluminum"? Heh heh.. those guys on RiderZ are gonna wet their pants! Can you tell that Mr. Bennett is from SoCal? Aerospace, baby!

    great...

...if you wait long enough you can put out something real old as if it were new (again).

    still a decent design though.

i swear that everything about this reeks of their skateboarder ads from '75. same logos for the same product (like) only the dates were changed. kinda cool actually.

Ok, so here's a question/poll for anyone who would consider buying them:

What is a reasonable retail price for a limited edition run of Bennett Vector/Pro truks?

Mr. Bennett is actually interested in hearing feedback... One consideration is that Bennett's production run is at a volume much less than a company like Independent or Tracker, so the price point will likely be higher since they're running at a higher cost structure. I know I'd probably let my wallet bleed a little from a pure nostalgia factor, but I used to ride these as a kid so everyone might not have the same purchase motivation.

Just for the nostalgia factor, I'd say that my absolute maximum would be $130, but if I only think of performance/style I'd say $75. Yeah, let's stick to $75 for me. I don't even remember if I've ridden any, hehe!

I will probably buy a set for test purposes and to see how they perform, feel, etc. But I think buying skating equipment for nostalgia (especially someone ELSES nostalgia in my case) is a little silly... that being said I own some old kryptos that sit around and do nothing, but I won't part with them.

I would pay maybe $50 max for the ones without the fancy baseplate. I've don't have any nostalgia for these, so it would be mainly for performace, and a bit of looks. A truck that's cast shouldn't go for too much, even if the hangers are faced.

in a galaxy not too far away but oh so long ago people had the same feelings about these trucks (oh, excuse me... truks). they were expensive for the time and had a propencity for breakage. the pivots wore out quite fast and the plastic baseplates disintegrated when you looked at them hard enough (don't ever let them near an opera singer or wd40 btw). this was a parallel universe called the 70's. when everything skateboarding was bright and... erm, gay. fibreflexes were light and flexible but combined with bennetts there was no match. there was no such thing as curb grinds, ollies, instead you had tricks called shoot-the-duck, walk-the-dog, or christies (see what i mean?) today we are here in the now and the memories of the past flow fondly but now and again comes a reminder that nothing is really new anyway.

Awesome trucks! What part of spring, it's technically spring any day now. I've got an LBL short humu 27" coming in soon and would love to have some retro trucks to go with a retro board and my retro wheels. What's the width, 100ish?

With all the talk about performance and precsion, I'm wondering if they come with 8mm axles. If so I would be willing to pay a bit more.

...with today's "you-t's" I can easily understand why you will not be able to understand the simple poetry of us ol' fuks' toys of summer. No cell phones, pagers, computers cordless phones etc. When I was 14 my joys were of a warm summer riding a Warptail (1) with Bennett's and Alligator wheels..riding to the corner gas station..buying a Coke and a Payday candy bar..I would ride all afternoon with friends..and then until easily 9 pm everynight. Resting on the porch steps every so-often re-reading for the 50th time Skateboarder magazine..and dreaming aloud..to anyone who would listen. And being the child of divorced parents..anxiously waiting for my father on Friday afternoon to pick my brother and I up and take us to his house to ride boards in San Francisco. (9th and Noriega) and riding all the way down Noriega street. My brother and I would be so pumped from riding that hill all day we often could not get to sleep until after midnite..waiting for the sun to come up again on another day for riding..D.O its not just the truck (truk)..its brain cells wired HOT forever in our balding roof's of memory. You may feel the same way someday about the Pentium CPU...

I'd say $50 is about right. To be honest when Trackers came out and you didn't have to adjust that jam nut or have it strip out the base plate I considered it a good thing.

I appreciate the nostalgia but I hate those things (not the trucks... they rule but using a tapped baseplate and a inverted kingpin/jam nut)

When boards were flat and Bennetts broke... 3 !@#$ hole baseplate! While they lasted, they were great, then they broke. New materials, 8mm axles, I'd buy 'em again...
