    Default gullwing trucks? any good?

I am trying to make my luke nosewalker a little more "turn friendly" problem being is that I want to put on some big wheels and the small wheels that come with it already create a lot of wheel bite. I was searching all around for a really huge truck to fit the montrous measurement of 9 inches in the front and 8.5 in the back. I looked at a few setups but after connecting with customer service I was told that people had tried and that they wouldnt work. (namely original trucks, and the randall's ) Then I saw these gullwing pro III 15" . I know they sound huge but I think they might work for me. What my question is is that has anyone every used the gullwings before or heard anything that I can do do rememdy my problem. I really like the size of the deck and just want it to perform a little better. thanks

    Gullwing sidewinders are good.

But if you want a good, big and turny truck consider Original S10's.

Their 250mm and turn better than a randal r2 150.

I went and check with original and they said that the s10's wont fit on the board without some wheel bite. Total bummer

you could cut your board down a little and put some cut outs in it.

Revenge trucks. Sa'll you need, my friend. I run a 76mm wheel with no riser and NO wheelbite. That's the beauty of the Revenge truck. They have a built-in (not to be confused with Biltin ) range limiter that prevents any kind of wheelbite.....and they CARVE. Do a search on them and you'll see others who have sang their praises. Super fun on a long deck like that.

PM me if you'd like any addtional info.

That's a great deck, don't cut it! The 15 in trucks are too wide for that board (I have those on an 80 in board). I have Tracker Dart 184's with Khiro bushings and flat risers on my Luke and it turn really well. I have Revenges on a 60 in board (they are only ~150mm as opposed to the ~180mm Darts) and it's super turny. They might be good on the Luke as well. I really like the Darts best though.

When I went to visit the guys at Sector 9 they had an S9 board(not in the line-up) that had the Gullwing Alpine trucks on it. It had some nice squishy bushings on them and turned pretty well. I believe retailers are now stocking them. On the other hand, conventionals like Trackers or Indys will ride nicely, with the proper wedges, on your Luke Nosewalker.

    Tacker 219, 11.25" axle width

    Tracker 184, 9.75" axle width

    Independent 215, 10" axle width

    Right.

With enough riser you could use the original S10's and out turn ANY

OF the other trucks mentioned in this thread.

I do like indy 215's with stims or super soft bushings too, though.

Still, not NEARLY as turny as the original's.

More of sliding, park, ramp type truck IMO.

hey, thanks for all of the input it comes as a huge help. I checked into the revenge trucks and they sound pretty sweet plus the guy told me if I dont like'em that he'd refund all my money? sounds too good to be true. I also looked into adding some risers and slapping on the s'10' so now I just have a decision to make
    Thanks again

Just keep in mind that the revenge are 150mm, so they are pretty narrow.

Also they are tall, but the original's with enough riser will be too.

Greater width will give them more stability and they still out turn any wide

    truck.

Not trying to convince you, just pointing out some things to consider.

Not trying to contradict Silversurfer here... I have a unique perspective on this. I have S10's, Revenges and a Luke (though I run Trackers on it). The S10's are wrong for that board, too wide and too high (once you add the almost 1 inch of riser you'll need). The Revenges would be better. You can run them with no riser and even though they seem narrow at 149mm, they work perfectly on my 60" board thats the same width as the Luke. They're also cheaper and more natural feeling. Having said that, I still prefer the Darts. That board was just made for convential trucks. Stick with it. It's a really well made and fun deck!

It's perfectly ok to contradict me.

As you have the S10's, the Luke and Trackers you are the authority on this subject not me. I don't have a luke or S10's.

I do love my S8's and my S6's though.

    So I generally recommend Original.

But I defer to your superior knowledge of these particular products.

Listen to gaucho on this one for sure!

silversurfer: what board do you have S8s on? Im looking to get either S8s or S10s to replace my randal 180s. The 180s are on my gravity surf rider if that helps.

I actually haven't recieved the deck for the S8's yet.

I have a 47" and 43" decks both with S6's. And I have an S6 on the back of my Roe Eldorado 36", carver cx front.

The S8's are for a board in the 35" to to 45" and pretty wide, about 9.5".
    28" wheelbase.

Probably the new Original Custom 45" cambered concave deck or the new 38x9.5" Chris Yandall Skogger/Pumper.

Which ever comes to market sooner.

    It'll be coool.

    I have one of
the OG lukes without a kick tail. I run indy 215s and soft wedge risers. I put 80a avilas on it for a sweet ride. However I cut out the wheel wells to run them. It carves hard is is super low because of the flex. Perfect cruiser, conventional trucks are way to go on this board. IMO

    Indy 215's are nice.

I run them on my BDS Gashead 2.

Perfect for that, with bones hardcore bushing, soft.
