    Default rII 180s knocking

while riding my local garage on my swift with 6 month old rIIs i noticed a new development and problem with the trucks. they are now making a knocking noise whenever i carve from one side to the other as i pass through the straight possition. i have recently upgraded to 3 inch grade 8 king pins but besides that the trucks are completely stock, not flipped either. they are set at what i would say is medium stiffness.

whats causing this knock? i can recreate it but i cant tell why its happening.

maybe the pivot cup is damaged , mine had that to, the pivot (pin ?) was scraping around in the cup , metal to metal sound that might sound like "knocking" .

sometimes when the pivot cup hole is too big they click against the kingpins threading. or it could be the hole in the hanger is a wee bit small so it clicks against the threads if you run your trucks with soft bushings or loose/floppy.

solution, get 5/16 inner dia flat washers and tighten your trucks if theyre floppy. or if its the hanger, break out the dremel/drill with a grinding bit and bore out the hole a tiny bit.

when you get randalls you first get better bushings, then flip the kingpin and the bushing washers..or get sum flat ones..

I advise you to put dry soap in the pivot cup, it works well.

chicagolongboards- They had to kill the alligator. After he ate the rednecks limbs he got a taste for crack. Have you ever seen an alligator with a crack addiction? It's serious business seeing them hanging out in allies!;)
