    Default RTS/X Combo or Mid-Tracks?

Im making a small deck for gettin around campus next year. Its 28" x 7". I want it to be stable at speeds around 15-20 mph.

I think I either want to get an RTS/X combo, or Mid-Tracks. Would the RTS/X combo be too turny for the speeds I want to take it? What about the Mid-Tracks?

If you have any other suggestions for trucks that would be great.

Slalom boards routinely use RT-X/S, and have similar dimensions.

Do you sell a RT-X/S combo package?

rtx/s isnt too turny. I actually use my slalom board as my commuter so i can turn sharp enough when I need to and keeps it stable into the 20s. But with the dewedging and bushing changes. I had a pair of midtracks and thought they were too small. Thats my 2 cents.

Ok, but can you tell me if they are stable at speeds around 15-20 mph...I will most likely be carving at this point, but sometimes I will be going straight and I dont want them to go crazy on me (when there are cars going on either side of me).

Edit: ok that should answer it...as long as anyone doesnt think the RTS/X combo will go crazy on me when Im going straight....

It should work well around that speed, even with the 106 width...
I have a 26" board with RTX/S that is just lovely and pretty stable for its size...maybe play with some wedging the front/dewedging the back, but you should be fine without it too...

ps. i am lying - I HAD a lovely 26" Roe that got run over by a car a few weeks ago...
    damn,that sucked hard

Ok but here' the deal...I dont want to use risers (only 1/8" softies), so dewedging/wedging is out of the question (besides, im not getting these trucks to do slalom).

So what did you do for a bushing change?

The stock Hourglass bushings are very soft. Something like a red Khiro Bitch or orange Indy would stiffen them up w/o robbing them of all turning ability.

Because of the small hanger width you can go pretty soft and still be fine - as I said even without wedges it should be ok...after all,if you wedge the front/ dewedge the back it should be as stable as a setup with flat or no risers - only with a turnier front that is compensated by the not-so-turny back truck...

Just in case it helps,I weigh about 170 and I had yellow stim/white khiro barrell on front and green stim/ blue khiro small top bushing in the back on my trackers...

106 rts/rtx will be a bit wide with sideset wheels for
a 7" deck. Mid-tracks seem like a better choice. Most
    slalom decks are 8-8.5"

Mix bushings and wedged risers to get the turn you like.

Can a RTS/X combo be used for pool and park skating? Or would the kingpin hang up?

The hot MidTrack setup for slalom, if you need a hanger that narrow, is the stock MidTrack rear and a MidTrack hanger in an RT-s (yes, RT-s) baseplate for the front. This is very turny and can be set up very nicely. The LBL Short Humus that have been at the Silverfish Sessions and also up at the Central Coast races this last weekend are set up that way and work great. Richy Carrasco suggested the setup and we're real happy with the way it works.

In terms of stability at speed, the lunatic WillJ bombs Pump Station at 30mph on the Short Humus in their slalom setup.

To all who are weary.......GET TRACKER RTS/X COMBO!!! Why? Because they are awesome! i have them on my slalom board and my pool board and they turn fabulously! they can handle speed almost as good as Randals without wobbling much, just tighten them and put soft bushings on them (i recommend the Khiro Red Bitches Med. Soft).

These trucks turn VERY well! i give Tracker 2 thumbs up! (Though i still give props to Randal and Original)

Hint: You can even PUMP them! I have done it up small inclines with my slalom board.

Oh well, hope that answers your question and/or clears any confusion whatsoever. =D

Do you know how the red Bitches compare to the red Inserts (not the barrel combo)?

Bitches (from what I heard) are supposedly better because of their shape (similar to that of the Randal bushings). The inserts (again, from what I have heard) are too easily broken and the built-in metal washer could possibly pose threats to your bushings (shred them).
