Truck size for Pool Deck.

I just ordered a blank 8.75"x32" pool board that I'm going to use for Pools, Ditches, Parks and a bit of Sliding. Needless to say, I'm stoked.
I am really not sure on what size trucks to get for it. I'm planning on Indys, Stage9 to be specific.
I also plan on running wheels between 35mm and 45mm wide on it which brings my trouble of not knowing what size trucks to buy.
If anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it.

p.s.- I was thinking 139 or 149mm.

8.75 is right between a 169 and a 149 in terms of Indy's. 149s fit perfectly on 8.5" decks, 169s fit perfectly on 9" decks. So, 149s and wide wheels that hang over the axle or 169s if you don't mind the axle poking out a tiny bit.

Core 6.0's are measured out at 8.65" I think, those might be your best bet. Cheap trucks, decent quality as well.

Seeing as I am going with a wide wheel I think the 149s would be good.

I've pretty much decided on the 149mm, and for wheels I'm thinking the Mini-Logo 60mm cause I'm on a budget.

You could go either way for the centerset wheels you are mentioning since they do not stick out past the end of the axle itself. If you were to put BullDog Skates Dub Cons or something like that (a wide, offset wheel) then you'd definitely want the narrower trucks.

149's will be best. I have 169's on my 9.5" deck.
Wheels: Spend more money if you can and get
bones 60mm SPF's.

They never made Indy 159s, only 156's, when stage 9 came out they dropped the 156. I've got some 159's on my 8.5inch Pavel though, I had an old pair of 156's and got some 169s and switched the hangers over.

i agree on the bones spf's. if you are in a slippery park, they ###### rock. so fast, so smooth.

Well, the thing is I'm going to be skating pretty rough ditches/banks as well, so I am kinda thinking I want something in the lower 90s or higher 80s with a fairly larger contact path.

yeah, they did... back in the 80's through the 90s... the last digit didn't always refer to the stage #. (Indy's Numbering/Naming system has always been kinda wonky)
the 166's (stage 6 or so thru 8 )were closer to 160mm.. as are the current 169's
Old 169's (stages 1 or 2 up through 5-- at least) were a decent bit wider than the current ones... as they got a bit smaller; they were much closer to the old 159 size and so the 159's were phased out.

For a nice all around wheel that will handle rough roads and ditches too, you can't go wrong with the Abec 11 No Skoolz in 88a. I have a set of the 65mm ones and they are magic! If I could only have one wheel to skate every place on, I'd pick those. Though I usually use harder wheels in smooth parks (bones spf, grimeballs, blackfartz, autobahn, cortech), I have skated the 65mm 88a no skoolz in the park too and they are still fast and smooth. If you pick the noskoolz, I'd go with the 149s.

i absolutely agree with him. there are better wheels in the park, but nothing rocks everything like the noskoolz in 88a.

I had NoSkools in the back of my mind, but I was afraid they would be sticking out some. That is my biggest pet peeve aside from dirty grip.

8.75" deck with 149s and NoSkools, I am thinking it would stick out. What would you guys say is the widest I could go without it sticking out?

I just went and measured and the No Skoolz stick out 1/4" past the end of the axle (on each side). So with a 149 that would put the whole thing at 9". I think that's not bad at all for a 8.75" deck - it'll just be sticking out 1/8" on each side. I had 149s with 65mm No Skoolz on an 8.5" Deathbox Inouye deck and didn't notice them sticking out really.
