Re: best decks for original s6's
Original Freestyle 43...looks like a snowboard with holes to elimanate wheelbite.
Original Freeride 47...well 46 now
Original Custom 35 or 45
any original deck..
I am going to have 2 up for trade/sale in the next day or two..
i'll post back latter to answer why, but short answer...no wheelbite, maximum carve and stick...nice fun well designed and thought out.
No other deck (except custom or homemade) is perfect for the trucks like these.
www.originalskateboards.com
they are looking to sponsor skaters too.

Re: best decks for original s6's
Original's new Derringer is a complete blast! It's their new board made for the s6. You can carve it on a really narrow road or sidewalk, and it pumps so well I think you practically use it for LDP.

The loaded pintail also rides nice with the s6 -- it's cutouts are so big you can use a 1/4" riser, and a reasonably large wheel (I had it setup with pink powerballs) and no bite.

I don't know if these are the best but I would definately consider them options, Subsonic Swerve 38 or Reflex 38.

I've had S6s and flashbacks on both a loaded pin and subsonic swerve 38. I prefer the loaded. The subsonic was gorgeous, but we didn't dial it in right on the flex.
The loaded pin dampens the turny nature of the S6 when I ride just enough so it feels more controlled. The downside is the loaded feels narrow on the S6. If you have big feet, I wear 13s, you're going to get toe bite in hard carves unless you're careful.

You know flex is a funny thing. I have never tried the S6's, but I have a set of S10's which I initially hade on a deck which had a lot of flex. Then I decided to Order the new Custom 45 deck from Original and mount the S10's on that. The Custom 45 deck is a pretty stiff deck and I weigh 190, I feel that this Combo allowed me to push the the trucks harder, and hard carves seemed much more controlled. A few weeks ago just for the heck of it I mounted the S10's on my LBL Otter which is a pretty flexy deck. I didn't like this Combo either, I let a few others try the S10's on the Otter also and everyone agreed the S10/Custom 45 combo felt much better. I can see wanting to take the edge off the 6's though.

Re: best decks for original s6's
I the equation that's true for all trucks, kicks in even more for originals: for a stickier ride, use a stiffer deck and a wider truck in proportion to your wheelbase. So . . .
I've had my s6s on two boards: original's stiff 28" derringer (sticks like mad, lots of fun on the flats too), and a flexy 35" loaded pin (drifts nicely in hard turns).
I've also ridden the wider s8s on that same flexy pin (stickier than the same deck/wheels with s6s), and on a 42" vanguard (my current favorite).

Re: best decks for original s6's
i have s6's on an original freeride 41 which is pretty flexy, i like it a lot, and the since they updated the freeride design they're selling old style freeride 41's for way cheaper now

Re: best decks for original s6's
I have s6's on a very flexy 47" deck that flexes into a nice rocker.
And I have s6's on a very stiff 43" snowboard shaped deck.
The trucks are sweeet on both decks but feel and ride like two completely
different animals.
