    Default Pivot cup wear

Is it normal for the pivot cups in tracker darts to wear down like this in about 2 months? (see picture attached)

I feel like it's causing me to get wheelbite no matter how much I tighten up the trucks. During tight carves, the trucks feel like they give way, and then I get massive wheelbite. At that point, it feels like there is very little rebound, and it kinda feels stuck.

The picture attached is of my back truck, because it has the worst wear, but my front truck is also going along the same route.

Also, are there any fixes to this?

    Thanks in advance.

No it isn't normal. Fix is to but some new pivot cups for $1 (I got 4 sets from sofa king for like $3 shipped). I suspect you have some weird bushing combo, or you are overtightening your kingpin.

    Indy reds + hourglass.

Didn't seem too awkward at the time. Maybe I should change it around?

My trucks are pretty loose. I have the nut on my back truck on just enough so that it doesn't fall off by itself. The front truck is just tightened by hand, and I have to countinously do so to prevent it from falling off (yea, I need to buy a longer kingpin). I'm 115, so these trucks actually aren't as loose as you might think they are for me.

    (bump)

Sorry, I still haven't found a cause to this yet, and I'd like to get things sorted out before I replace the cups.

It just looks like normal wear from having your trucks so loose. Just replace the cups.

replace the cups AND inspect the pivot pin on your hanger. I had the same sort of wear on my tracker rt-s 139 and it was due to a bad mold which put a bump on my pivot pin and in turn raped my pivot cup. i guarantee that is your problem. use a metal file to smooth out your pivot pin.

For Trackers, it IS normal. It happend to me regardless of how tight the trucks were or bushing combo. Mine were both like that. The hangars dig deep into them. Replace the pivot cups and make sure they're slightly shorter.

I suspect the reason your pivot cup is getting thrashed is because your trucks aren't tight enough. If you leave it floppy loose, then the hanger moves around in all sorts of ways. You need to snug the kingpin nut down so that the truck can only move in the angles designed. If your trucks don't turn as easily as you'd like with the nut snug (not cranked down, just snug so the hanger doesn't flop), then install some softer bushings.
