Re: Chaput Truck Alert
that mockup is just about perfect. the other shots are a bit misleading with the bushing pin heights. now start kicking out set after set man! in about 2 months now i will have enough cash to build a good dh setup and you are my #1 choice for trucks.

Re: Chaput Truck Alert
I'm just a little curious though, how will they perform for downhill? Are they going to be stable like randals, jimzs and all the other ones are? The geometry is very similar to randals except the fact that they have 2 pivots instead of one which should account for great grip and predictability... I'm just curious how stable they are when put to the test. Does the double spherical pivot system affect stability? though assuming the path the hanger takes, probably not...
What about the positive rake on the hanger? Better response from the trucks and all, but a flip-able hanger or even a hanger with no rake would be nice. no? Or would the axle interfere with the baseplate and/or the pivot...

Re: Chaput Truck Alert
I kinda like your wide 50mm cored wheels, they drift really nice! Do ride a bit rough though.
As far as the wider Fyres; "If you build it they will come." You can interpret this any way you want!

Re: Chaput Truck Alert
If anyone wants to see several "candid shots" of the Fyres, check out the IGSA North Am Championships gallery...there's a huge load of photos of racing, but also several from the sidelines with a Fyre'd board flipped over..pretty close shots, fyi.

those trucks look verry, verry high. Or is that just the pic?
I know slalom doesn't have to be really low. But like to footbreak without having to kneel down to much
I did notice however the complete lack of wedges. Witch is a good thing.
So how does the overal hight compare to normal wedged trucks>?
And offtopic:

Re: Chaput Truck Alert
it doesnt matter if its tall cause on most trucks you use a ton of riser. also trying to lower you slalom board will negatively affect the preformance so tou might as well do it
hey yo son that's my name whats the word?

Less than a week before Dixie Cup, Chaput sent me a pair of Fyres with 60 and 30 degree plates. The 60 was too much turn for me and I finally settled on a 50 degree plate. Mounted flat without risers, it works perfect with 70mm wheels. At full turn, it stops about 1/4"-3/8" from deck. About where I had my front Radikal. I found I was able to ride with less steering, harder bushings, and a longer wheelbase, yet the trucks worked better for me than Radikals.
After 3 full seasons on Radikals, I wouldn't have rode them if I didn't think they could put me on the podium, and they did not disappoint at the Dixie Cup.
I think in TS with smaller wheels, they may sit a little higher than I like. With the old Radikal rear, you could really lower the rear if you wanted. Still, I was amazed at how well the rear truck (which is the exact same hanger) worked. No slippage at maximum pumping.
The Fyres are not to be ignored... You will see them on the podium again next season...

Although taller than a Radikal, the Fyres aren't too tall, and I end up putting smaller risers under them, and never a wedge.
That's a Rogers Bros pegless with the fender kit that Tyler's carrying around.

CBark is being modest. He went Gold, Gold, and Silver on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday while riding the Fyre Trucks front and rear.
Wait for a chance to ride some and then tell me what your next purchase is going to be...
