Re: Chaput Truck Alert
Are we getting closer to the time when mere mortals can get these things?
And any news about the liquids?

Most likely the slalom racing gods will get them first. That is of course if they are already not commited to G.O.G trucks. I think the S.R Gods are expecting the rear G.O.G Racer X trucks soon.
With Splitfires not in the new truck production it seems there is a small slalom truck vacuum.
IMHO

your spleen is kind of already useless thogh you may contract type 1 diabetes if you remove it, in that case your pancreas would be worthless, you have 2 kidneys but you're gonna need em if you get diabetes or become an alcoholic or drug addict

Dibsies on his spleen. They taste good sauteed in extra virgin olive oil with onions, garlic, & fava beans.

Yeah, that's from the Silverfish/LCB clinic in January. Those are the v.3 Fyre protos that Chris and others have been racing on. I think Yandall shot that pic.

They're also quite scrumptious when deep fried and lightly salted.

Yes I know I'm resurrecting an OLD thread, and there are MANY threads on the Fyre trucks, but this is the only one where Chaput has been actively involved in the conversation, and I read this in another thread:

Strong, straight, through axles on a precsion steering truck that doesn't snap axles or kingpins. What a concept. And I think that we're with 60 days...
That statement was posted 3 days ago, so are we now at 57 days and counting?
So Chris, can you give us any more information?
Will the cast / machined versions be available in 60 days, or just the expen$ive all machined versions?
Price?
Available to the general public?
Reflex bushings?
Can I pre-order?
So many questions, so few answers.......
.

(I just wanna be able to buy a precision slalom truck in the US, that's all......)

I heard he's busy at the shop, melting down old Randals with a butane torch, and that the retail price is 37.92/truck. Of course, that could be totally false.

i heard he was getting the sherpas to do that, and the price would be 37.92 per truck for the metal, then another 3 sesame seed and 1 grain of rice's worth of labour, to add to the price... so its gonna be 37.93 (rounded up) per truck
i want some DH versions of these trucks

SWEET! If he's melting down old Randals, that means he's working on the cast version, not the machined version, so they'll be more affordable.

No, he's melting them down into blocks of aluminium.
Then he's machining them out of the block.

Re: Chaput Truck Alert
why does the industry do this to me....you spend x amount of dollars on top of the line gear to help with traction and so you are happy.......then all this new even more expensive stuff comes out. WHY!?!??!?!?!?

Torch? The 'num is so soft on the Randal's a Bic lighter melts them.
Informed guesses have been made that if he makes them they are one of's for certain peeps like Cbark and other pro's. Otherwise they are so costly being machined in SoCal..
He might have to have them made in ColoRADo (less expensive) or China.
