Newbie in need of help with trucks
ok i so im buying a board from Bustin Boards this week and i need some opinions on which trucks you guys think would be best for me.
the tucks offered are Revenge Type 1, Tracker Darts, Seismic 45s
i was thinking either the Revenges or Trackers. I would like to do some down hill, and some carving. So i think the Trackers would be best for this. but i want some really good carvers that wont give me too bad speed wobbles down semi steep hills.
i guess my real question is, In terms of an all around (carving and hills) truck are the Trackers one of the best out there? and in terms of a carving truck are the Revenges one of the best out there?
im willing to buy a set of trucks later on so i can get the best allaround truck, and the best carving truck out there.
any opinions would help, thanks!

Randals.
Personally I think it's worth waiting or getting them from someone else.

yeah, thats why im willing to buy another set of trucks later if theres a better set of either strictly carving or a mixture. but i have to pick one of these three to complete my board.

You can't just buy the deck?

Re: Newbie in need of help with trucks
if not too wide those trackers can be used for a slide-setup in the future, but if its the 184's I'd go for the revenges. Wedged trackers can carve really well also
I hate signatures, so i turned them off

BEAR GRIZZLYS!!
If you want the best, these look like it. 55 degree angle for carving. Flip the hanger and you get a 45 degree angle for a speed truck. I'm thinking about these for my Vanguard, but the Randalls are pretty good and I'm happy with them.
If you got the dough. Go for the Grizzlys.

right now its definately between the Trackers and Revenges.
does anyone know if the Revenges will be as stable going down hills as regular skateboard trucks? if they are then ill probably get those. if theyre not as stable then ill get the Trackers

Re: Newbie in need of help with trucks
in terms of downhilling ability, i'd trust trackers over revenges anyday

Re: Newbie in need of help with trucks
In terms of good trucks that do anything you want them to, go for Trackers. Revenges are more specialized trucks that probably aren't gonna leave you with warm fuzzies when you go to bomb a hill.
(I have 3 boards in my apartment right now and they all have Tracker trucks in them... They can do anything I ask of them.)

Longboards and longer wheelbase boards kinda suck. They turn like ####. If you ride one of these, try some wedge risers to correct the steering. "
The guy is smart, no doubt, but he needs to be educated on some things... I've seen longboards that turn far better than the ol' 32x8.

Re: Newbie in need of help with trucks
jusfuris, I own a Bustin Complex board and I ended up getting the trackers. My current setup is:
- 78a Gumballs
- Red Bones bearings
- wedged front with Khiro White bushings
- rised rear with Khiro Blue bushings
I can carve, bomb, slide - all in all the shitzle is fu-real. Great board!!!

Re: Newbie in need of help with trucks
The Revenge Alpha 2's are GREAT on the Complex, after the rear truck is dewedged back to "level". I wouldn't call that a bombing or speedboard AT ALL, however. That's a killer carve, cruise and funhog setup.
Now someone above mentioned the 184mm hangered Grizzlies. Y'know, with the rear truck similarly dewedged to level, that could be killer if you used center set wheels, like some 78a Grippins. That could be really cool.
Relax, Don't Worry, Ride Your Longboard.
