Original bushings keep breaking
Yes I've searched. I've done everything everybody suggested. I've lubed everything, I've sanded the bushing housing. The trucks are so loose they almost fall apart.
But still I've cracked 3 (!) sets in the 4 times I;ve ridden them.
And the weird thing is it's onely the back bushing that keeps cracking. The front truck has no problems at all
Are ther anny more things I can do because this is getting expencive.

make sure you know what someone is talking about before you answer a question.
one thing that i can think of is maybe if theyre too loose that the bushings arent makign complete contact when they are centered then when the bushing first makes contact the initial impact is more than if you had them tighter so that the bushings are always in contact. then they would just slide like they are designed to. ive always run mine so that there is almost no play when they are centered and mine have been fine and i am lazy about cleaning and relubing.
you could also try to use one of your bushings to make a mold and melt an old set of slide pucks and attempt to make your own more durable bushing. not sure how well this would work but you could try it
I\'ll go first...

Re: Original bushings keep breaking
where there broken how does it look, any bubble's, I have broken 5sets of originals bushings in about that many rides, all due to bad casting on there part (porosity) , then it took them 8months to replace them (8months).
heres a link to a thread a wrote a long long time ago, see if its familiar to whats happing to you
Why Orginal needs to improve there bushing Quality Control !

They are not THAT loose. They are tightened to the pont that there is no play when shaking the board.
And I've checked the bushings and they seem fine overall. No bubbles whatsoever that I can see. But ofcourse I trew almost all the craced ones out (apart from the one that broke today)
They crack almost precicely in the middle on the sides (if that makes sence) they look the same as those in your topic. But minus the airbuble. Just a clean tear.
I'll try and make a pic tomorrow. But I'm a bit scetcy about taking 'm apart right now because I want to keep riding 'm till I get new bushings (wich can take a little while) I'll just have to refrain from carving

Hey Basch,
I would love to see what kind of setup you have the trucks on and hear a little bit more about how they are being used.
It doesnt sound like you are tightening the trucks to avoid wheel bite (which generally causes the problems).
As such the only thing I can think is that some how when you bought the trucks they had been really tight for a long time. Sometimes if a truck remains tightened for months on end the spring can actually suffer from it which would cause you to have to over tighten the trucks even to just engage the screwed up spring.
The best way to tell how tight the mechanism actually is, is to look at how much white bushing shows over the top rim of the bushing casing of the baseplate (in the back of the truck). If your trucks feel loose (not much resistance) but the white bushing isnt showing at all over the rim of the bushing casing there is a problem with your spring.
That being said, drop us an email with your address and we will see what we can do to get you some replacement parts. We have actually been holding off on serious international distribution until we release the next generation truck which thus far through testing has been much more reliable.
Last year nearly 6000 sets of Original trucks were shipped, a total of 1000 sets of replacement bushings were shipped to support all of the trucks sold last year AND all of the other trucks still being ridden from the past four years of sales.
In the U.S. we have no trouble supporting our riders, I feel it is one of our strengths, as such we have enjoyed an average company growth rate of 90% each year for the past five.
As to Loki,
Canada is now online with corrected support. Which doesnt help you out yet basch, but as soon as we nail europe down it will.
Thanks much for the support guys,

Re: Original bushings keep breaking
It is on a Ed Economy (huge cutouts so no wheel/hangerbite) and the bushings are showing a bit. I actually heard about the "tight for to long" so I had the spring out of the truck for about a week for it to settle back to normal before riding it again. It is actually ridden mostely flatland for now with some verry mind carving down dunepaths onely just today.
I'll take some closeup pictures tomorrow to show how it is right now.
And thanks for the answer. That was a quick reactionb and a good one

Re: Original bushings keep breaking
Is it possible that a rough spot inside the casing (the tube in the baseplate that the bushings slide into) is causing the break? It does keep happening to the rear afterall.

That was one thought I had,
Another is that the casting may just be off.
Basch,
As I said previously 5 bushings is a lot to go through. I skate my setup in bowls parks banks etc and come down hard on those things, ollies put way more strain on the bushings than you should ever be able to put on them through normal riding.
Even so I probably still only go through one set every 4 months on my agressive board (PURGE 33) which is really the board I ride most.
Send some pictures my way and we will get it nailed down.

The inside is sanded down so smooth it's like ice. The trucks are paited black on the outside but the inside is as it's supposed to be. And sanded to perfection.
I'll post some pics here and go trough the rest on PM with Original.
As said before, verry quick response!

Re: Original bushings keep breaking
im so glad youre having a personal problem. nothing like digging up a two year old post to celebrate.
i dont think basch has been around for MONTHS as well.
so this one time, there was this chicken. Fred. Fred the chicken was always a happy chicken. He liked to play with his friends, and go swimming in the lake. One day, his friends, who were all chickens, asked what he did when he didn't play. He said swim. So they said chickens can't swim. So he told them that they were just jealous, and went swimming. And he was eaten by a frog. Always listen to your friends.

Probably the wrong place to mention this...Next time try emailing original about problems with an original product?
