heavy rider needs help
I bought a longboard over the past year, and I noticed that the torsion trucks I had don't look like they are going to last. The big rubber ball part has a long crack in it and will brobably break any day. So now I am looking for a replacement, and don't know what the best trucks would be for a 230+ pound rider. Any suggestions?

Re: heavy rider needs help
what size?
if your worried about bending your trucks, look at the lady bear trucks, these are 184mm.

Re: heavy rider needs help
I weigh about that and ride Randall´s, Crails, Indy's and Originals.
For what board and for what kind of riding will, it be?

Yeah, Randals work fine for me. I'm heavier than you are. Stock bushings even.

I've been thinkin' bout Grizzlys. Wasn't sure if I was just being selfconcious about my weight or not...
Guess I'll start saving up my change just in case...

Re: heavy rider needs help
Sounds like Exkates.
Those have a reputation of busting rather quickly.
For something with that same feel, I'd go with Originals. Very nice trucks and are built VERY solid.
I weigh about the same as you and they hold up perfectly. Loads of fun too.

Re: heavy rider needs help
230's not that heavy... Almost any truck is going to be fine. Randal, Holey, Force, Bennett, Tracker FasTrack, Crail, Paris, Landyachtz Grizzly...all "randal style" trucks that can each be easily tuned to work great at your slender weight (I have a solid 5 lbs on you, skinny) and that you're unlikely to damage unless you're rolling 85mm+ wheels at high speeds or etc...
Your Exkates are a different kind of truck (all those above will feel less turny and more stable) and it's actually kinda rare for the elastomers to fail. If you contact them, they will gladly send you another to replace it. Even if you get new trucks, it's worth repairing the old ones.
Relax, Don't Worry, Ride Your Longboard.
