You don't need a replacement kingpin, but putting new bushings in is HARD, but just work at it for a bit. MAKE SURE the bushings have like plastic or metal tops, will help a ton.

no although getting a similar sized kingpin in grade 8 would be a good investment. also with khiro barrels you should put 2 washers under the bottom bushing it bring it back to normal height.

    hope this helps

*edit* make sure the washers are flat so the bushing has room to be freeeeee!!

Is it normal to put 2 washers on the bottom (and one on top) with any truck when using khiro's or just randalls? I am going to be using some khiro's with my crails soon... And by bottom you mean the side closest to the baseplate, correct? What happens if you just use one on the bottom and tighten the truck up to the same amount?

Changing out any kingpin to a grade 8 is both wise and fairly easy (except on Stage 9 indy's where you need JB Weld to finish) I've nevr had an issue with putting on even the hardest of bushings. Make sure you use flat washers and you will extend your bushing life.

I've never had a problem putting on bushings (except I did get a bones hardcore bushing stuck on grindking inverted kingpin once). I really can't imagine how it would be hard to do unless either the kingpin or bushing was manufactured incorrectly or damaged.

Jraice, the thing with putting washers under the bottom(closest to the deck) bushing is to make the new bottom bushing the same height as the old one. You want them to be the same height because that is the height the hanger needs to be at to slide into the pivot cup properly. If the hanger is at some other angle you will wear out the pivot cup alot faster and if you have some precision trucks you will not even be able to get the pivot into the pivot cup.

So what you need to do is stack washers under the bottom bushing until you get it to a similar height as the stock bottom bushing. When people say you need a certain number of washers they are wrong in a sense because washers come in many different thicknesses, but this is already long enough and I think you get the idea.
