    Default Force C7's

Really like what I have read about the C7's and I am getting them with some awesome wheels, bones reds and a rayne downhill board

I read that you guys have in the past recommended some mods for them, what are the simple ones that a downhill beginner could easily do and benifit from?

Take a metal file to the pivot nub of the hangers and get rid of the line on the sides from the mold casting.

Upgrade to grade-8 kingpins with either some tape wrapped around the kingpin or use metal shim stock so that it fits more snugly than it will stock.

Get yourself some nice new bushings.

If you're under 170 pounds or so, get some softer bushings. Otherwise, start out with the stock setup.

Or, if you're a freak like me, run black Randal DH bottom bushings and blue Khiro insert tops. Turny as hell under my 215 pounds.

Keep in mind I am new to any sort of truck moding... please dumb that down a bit ...

And I am just over 150 pounds so what type of bushings would you recommend? What fits the C7's...

Where can I get this stuff online? Hopefully milehigh sells it (thats where I will be getting the complete with the C7's)

    Thanks

So those bushings are compatible with the C7's?

Sounds good, Ill probably get those, ride it stock for a while then make the change, just to see the difference.

That kit is the one with 5 bushings hardness's, right? Which would you recommend for a lightweight (150 pounds) beginer???

Those bushings will fit, but it wouldn't hurt to get some extra flat washers just in case. Why? Because you want to match the stock bushings' height so that the trucks' geometry doesn't change too much. If you're buying a complete, put a note in the comments and I'll toss some in fo' free.

Which bushings? It depends. I outweigh you by 70-ish pounds, but I probably run softer bushings than you will because I like my trucks absurdly loose. Experimentation is key.

I sent you a private message about the board...

Somebody has said that the wheels on this board arent great for beginers (for sliding)... and recommended sector 9 GOS wheels. You have another version of the demonseed with sector 9 hill bombing 81mm 80a wheels, simliar shape to the GOS just a bit bigger. Would those be easier to slide then the siesmics? That board has the crail trucks, they are 45 degrees, much differences from the C7's? Same mods...?

    Thanks

Yeah but I cant chose which one, I was going to get the one with the C7 trucks and seismic wheels (30 degree angle, should be super stable) but I want to learn how to slide to stop and somebody pointed out that those wheels can bounce and are hard to learn on. So now I am thinking the one with the crail speed trucks and S9 bomb hill 81mm's is the way to go, they recommened 76mm GOS S9's and the bomb hill 81mm's look similar... But the crail trucks are only 45 degrees, im no expert but that seems like way more wobbly then the 30 degree C7's...

But perpaps the C7's and seismics are a step ahead, the S9 "slidable" wheels and slightly easier to turn trucks may be better for my style and for a first speed board...

So will the same mods and equipment for the C7's work with the Crails?

i love the way my bigvents handle and slide, but pretty much everyone else seems to think theyre crap.... so thats your call. the bomb hills wheels are supposed to kick ass, and from what ive seen, crails are pretty stable and you most likely wont have any casting marks to grind off. but metric grade 8 kingpins should be all the modding you need on crails... maybe new bushings, but moog bushings are very nice

Not number wise, but soft medium or hard... what would you call the bushings the crails come with? I think Ill start off just getting a pair of replacement kingpins (what exactly does that do though?) to mod them and then I will look into getting the bushing kit in the feature after I wear the stock ones down a bit. So the bomb hills would be similar to the GOS?

Sounds like I will get the demonseed with crails, pair of grade 8 kingpins and I plan on making myself a pair of slide gloves... sounds like Im set!

    Thanks guys!

grade 8 kingpins are just stronger... having a kingpin break on you while riding wouldnt be fun. the stock moog bushings in crails are medium hardness(88a i think) they are very good bushings.. i like it with a yellow moog on the bottom and a green rad on top for the front truck of one of my dh boards. good luck dude

    Thanks for the help bra...

so do you think they would be soft enough for me (only 150ibs?)? Could get a single softer bushing, not sure what would work with them though... and the kingpin break doesnt sound fun... that makes sense though so it doesnt really effect the ride, just makes it stronger...

.replacing the stock kingpin with a longer one also allows you to run larger bushings...
