trucks and wheels for home build(for buddies)? (low-cost?)
basically, i'm gonna spread the stoke to my 3 buddies by building them longboards!
but, i need to do it for a lower price...
they've never ridden before, but i think they would enjoy it, plus it'd give me some people to ride with. besides, if you build somebody a sweet longboard, they'd better ride it, right?
anyways, i want to spend maybe $20 or $30 for trucks, bearings, AND wheels.
is that unrealistic? i'm not talking randals, here, maybe some no name trucks, or something similar. i want to get 3 or 4 sets...
can you guys recommend anything? or a place to get them at?
i'd want like, 150mm trucks, or bigger, i guess, basic bearings, and like, 70mm wheels or bigger...
thanks for your help!

ps i know posted a similar thread on the board building forum, but i don't expect people to cross check forums, and since this is a more specialized forum, hopefully you can help me a little better!~

Ummm:
These guys claim to have flashbacks for $20
http://www.streetboardz.com/abec11wheels.html
And yes, I've been sitting on this bookmark for cheap Zigs for a while now because I am a
horrible person.
Have also seen 'Longboard Trucks" for $10-15--but have no idea of quality.
Bearings are going to run you about $10 of your budget if you go Mini-Logo or Pleasure Tool.
Or hopefully...Revenge will be back in play soon...
And then you could always go this route:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Longboard-Fronta...QQcmdZViewItem
But...they look pretty...cheap.
You want your friends to want to ride right?
Really, I would raise that budget a bit and do some serious google/ebaying. Look to spend $60 and
you could probably make something work.

You would do good to stay away from streetboardz. Post in the buy/sell section for some cheap trucks, usually somebody has some old S9 wheels they are willing to part with cheap. Otherwise ebay has some pretty cheap stuff. I think "slammin city skateboards" is the name they have super cheap trucks/wheels.

hey guys!
yeah, it's actually a surprise, like a WAY early christmas gift (it wouldn't be fun giving them this gift in a cold pennsylvania winter)
so i'm not going to ask them for any money.
now, those abec 11 prices look AWESOME from streetboardz...
bean-a-reano, why don't you like streetbroadz?
i want to buy 3 sets, so that's why i'm asking about cheap(er) trucks and bearings, etc.
my first board was a TOTAL brand x board. and everything still works and i thought it was the best board in the world.
ever heard of pivot trucks? those were on my first board

pivot used to be what sector 9 stocked their boards with, and honestly.. they'll turn fine with some real soft bushings.

Are those the guys that steal the deformed wheels out of Abec 11's dumpster and resell them?

yikes, that store kinda scares me now!
if i dont' get wheels, would you trust them? like, i could get trucks and bearings from them... or even non abec11 wheels? like the kryptonics?
mile_high_mark recommended core trucks, what do you think?

Thanks for the info. I've been looking at that sight for awhile with my head cocked to the side.
Just seemed a little sketch. Likewise, thanks to Fat Bastard. Good to know.

Yeeeea yea yea. dead thread. But If someone is looking for cheep stuff go on ebay. Search longboard trucks. A billion packages with everything but the deck and grip come up. They are junk but usable junk. Its what I learned how to push on. You can carve and push around on them just fine. All you need for beginning. However if you stick with it you will eventually move up so it would be a good idea to just start out with some randals and flashbacks. Thats about an 80 dollar getup. Yup.
