    Default wheelbite issue

    Hello!
Took my little gfhurley 27 apart and remade it. Sanded it down and lacquered it. The trucks where squeeky so i greased the busings and the pivot cup, now the squeeks have stopped but i get really easy wheelbite which is odd cuz before i had superloose trucks and no wb at all, is it the grease? they turn awkwardly now to!

some help is appreciated, hit my head really hard when i took it for a test run yesterday... btw its gfh oldschool minitrucks and 3dm cambria 62mm 74a wheels. i have some khiro risers on it i think they are 1/8"

    thanks in advance!

is it possable the bushings are slipping out of the cups that hold them? thats my only thought as to why they would turn deaper with lubricant in there

    no they are not...
really depressing since it was such a nice board, could do some nice tight paralell stance slalom with it! maybe i need to tweak the kingpin tension some more!

is it true that the rear truck should be alot more tensioned than the front? supposed to give more traction but it ends up lifting one wheel when i try to turn deep, its sick i can turn deeper with my rayne timeline with urbanblue 150's!!!

One main issue with the 27's was that like so many of our mini's the wheel wells were designed for a standard trucks and not a 3" truck. We had issues with our wood shop and the jig that was used. We finally got all the mini boards dialed in with the right wheel wells and now the problem is not there. We have a new batch of 27's that is coming out next week that has the right wheel wells. I would say that a easy fix would be to get a belt sander and hit the contact point (which is straight down from the axle. That would be the easy/best fix.

people say to have the back tighter than the front, but i like them equal, its all your preference

If you're having a wheel lift then yes it's probably too tight.
Take some off the back and perhaps put some on the front to compensate.

lots of people I know run the back looser that the front... they're longer than 27" though
It's really a personal choice, different boards run better different ways
and different stances lend themselves to different ratios

I'd say they should allways be fairly close to even. but I'm sure there's no "right" setting.

I had squeaky trucks on new Randal 180s, but didn't have any wheel bite. Greased the pivot cups and bushings. Instant wheel bite!!! but silent....I think the grease allows the bushings to move much further by sliding side to side. I went with the next hardness bushing, greased them and all is fine now.

When checking for wheelbite should you see if it is possible for the board to ever touch the wheel? What i mean by this is should you put the board on a carpet and stand on it and turn reallly deep, to the point where your back wheel is almost coming off, or will all boards have wheelbite when you do this?

you should learn the hard way like i did, pump really hard for about a hundred meters or so and hit a speed of 15-20 km/h. Then you try to really step on a heelside turn and tadaaaaa you have a perfect face plant and a burn mark from the wheelbite on the board.

well about gfhboards, in general i think you make top notch stuff! my brother has got the pigme and ive got the 27, both are indestructable and multifunctional as hell, when tuned right. an idea is that i'll try it in the bowl this weekend with hard wheels. should be cool. my friend outpumped me last time and he had a g&s warptail while i had a biiiig alva pooldeck. funny.
