Well... I've been pondering over the whole adjustable truck deal and this is what came from it when I had the chance to get my hands on some decent tools. It's a super skechy idea-level mechanical drawing and I have little drafting knowledge, maybe like 9 months; it isn't measured either (except the base is 4'-1/4'.)
I'd actually be really happy if someone with the right materials stole the sketch for their own uses as long as I got a few too... (*hint*hint*)

It sucks, I know already.

I say that looks tall.
make the range of degrees smaller by flattening the adjustable arc segment and it'll be way lower. who needs a 60˚ DH truck anyways right?
you could prolle make it from 35˚ - 50˚

or asapose to pivoting the truck you merely "crank up" or "raise" one side of the truck to change the angle... would be slower to change the angle but i think you might be able to get it lower (maby stronger too)

Strength would definately be and issue here, especially because there would be a lot of pressure on the thin pieces between the two halves of the baseplate...
Your idea might work too, but there would need to be a sphereical pivot or some kind of hinge on the pivot cup for the hanger to mount correctly (like when flipping hangars, but worse...)
