    Default tuning Seismics

    hey guys,

I've been riding on Lush Samba Seismics for about a year. They seem to have gone stiff and creaky. I've tried adjusting them but that doesn't seem to do anything. I'm pretty new to Seismics, so does anyone have any ideas how to remedy this ?

If you go springless in front, just don't bang the hanger into the baseplate while you turn.
I have countless hours of this practice under my wheels with no ill effects.

This will really teach you how to work your body to pump as you can't rely on timing
the return of energy to be your guide...

I don't particuarly want to take the springs out. I'm already using the softest ones too. I just want to sort the recent creaky stiffness. Hmmm it may need to be just a case of buying new Seismics then.

    3232,

What width hanger was on the broken base ^^^

That's pretty much where you'd expect breakage to occur... The 105s hanger has a little tab that contacts the plastic when leaned on too far... leaves a little "tooth" mark in the side of the plastic base if I'm too aggressive

Can you show the black plastic base insert.... I'd like to see the damage it took
to get through to the point where metal is finally being contacted...Hope nobody got hurt!! (I like your avatar)

    Dogpark,

Aside from a good cleaning and relube w/ Triflow I've taken the black plungers
out of the springs and put a radius on the outside of the end the smaller silver springs go into...that stopped the clicking from the plunger catching on the spring coils...
Try a thin coat of white lithium grease on the kingpin seat which is a source of
creaking as is the smaller spring deforming and rubbing on the main spring coils.

It was a 180 hangar. I did get the tooth marks like you mention, i actually duct taped some rubber on there to keep it from doing that.

I didn't get hurt. It was still ridable after the break, the black plastic held it together along with the fact that it was bolted to the board. I just ended up buying another baseplate from a member on here since I figured that one would fall apart soon.

It's cool you posted up so people know it's a concern......

I've only owned 105 Seismics as I'm more of a dedicated slalom racer and have no need for trucks any wider... I only use a rear Seismic anymore with Radikal fronts... great combo.

I still love my springless front 45* for parking lot maneuvers .......

I posted this over a year ago just thought i would throw it out there again.

It was fun springless, I could pump from a stop on my 46" pintail.
