Re: How do you keep your trucks?
for the most part I'm a loose trucks guy, though bushing selection, wheels and purpose also weigh in as factors. The loosest trucks I have are on my C39 but I have Khiro yellows on it, the loosest feeling truck are probably on my 60" and that's Khiro Blues and a bit tight in comparison...the loosest board I have ever set up was for curb skating, it was downright floppy....hmmm need to set up a popsicle for that again

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
I think I speak for the majority here when I say that loose trucks is the way to go, then tune the ride with bushings.
I hate signatures, so i turned them off

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
little bit of rattle on mine...used to have them looser but found softer bushings was the way to go

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
I like mine medium to semi loose. When i go fast I kinda freak out and loose trucks make me way unstable.

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
I vary around the middle depending on how much I need to turn or how fast I'm going.
It also depends on the board. my 23" it loose and wedged...

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
Loose is sloppy. I ride mine securely cinched and tuned with bushings. Soft for turny, medium for medium and big for stable.

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
about one turn tighter than the point where theres no longer any unrestricted movement of the hanger, and i just tune with bushings....so i guess thats "pretty loose"

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
I like em tight enough so that I can boardwalk/cross-step and bomb hills with out fear of instability yet loose enough so that I can do some pretty sharp turns. I suppose that would qualify as medium. On my mini i keep em as loose as possibly without getting any wheelbite. Of course one mans loose may be an other man's tight depending on weight, bushing type etc.

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
i've got my holeys as loos as you can get them and still have the nut on there, but the bushings are still snug, i dont like there to ever be a gaps between the bushings, it makes them way to inconsitent

I say trucks should be snug but let the bushing do the work.

You're not supposed to run gaps at all. When you're running gaps or "rattling" it's time for new bushings instead of just loosening the truck. There should always be some pressure from the bushings on the hanger, even when the board is neutral/center.
I run all my trucks at this level of looseness, except on my slide deck where I get wheelbite if they're too loose. I don't feel like putting any more riser on them for the time being.
EDIT: I see now this has already been said 8 times over.

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
Its all about the same amount of "preload" on all setups and tune with the bushings.

yeah, i pretty much meant to say the same as what you said, they are snug but loosish, and just harder or softer bushings dependant on the setup, i've just ridden others setups that are loose to the point that there are gaps, and it sucks

Supple in the front, tight in the back - just like... forget it.

Amen.
Yet a guy acted like I was the rookie when I commented that his Randals were completely floppy. He could get 20-30 degrees of variation out of the trucks just from picking it up and shaking it.

Re: How do you keep your trucks?
i hate turning. my current bushing setup is randal dh dewedged to 10* in the back, and 12* in the front. purble khiro tops all around. sometimes when i wanna carve, i use venture bushings
