UPDATE: as stated in my editorial you may have trouble with the kingpin not being long enough. You only option would be to run small bushings or epoxy another kingpin in. Well after a little research TheLongboardStore.com sells Paris replacment kingpins. These Kingpins have the same knurle Indy and ACE kingpins have and are 2 1/2 inch long so you can run better bushings. Im currently using them and I feel they are much better than epoxying a different kingpin.

After reading this thread I got out some of the boards I have set up with Indy 169's and took them out for a ride today. I need to ride these boards more often.

Never tried. The Biggest I have ridden is 82mm cherry bombs and I only really ride strait roads with them. Try it and let us know!

Awesome tutorial! After reading it,I found some old trucks that say "Invader 183mm" on them, and set them up drop through up on my Fullbag Speedcarver, with a dewedged tail and nose. They are awesome! Very stable, but still turny. Does anyone know who makes these trucks? --Thanks!

Sweet Thanks! Ya just found them on Madrid's website.
I am thinking about getting some better trucks for my board, and am wondering if anyone knows about the Mile High Skates "Hybrid 215 trucks"----These look like a perfect setup for running indys for DH, since they come with a some modifications that most people would make ( taller kingpin) etc. Maybe? would these work dewedged for downhill? Thanks for the help!

the hybrids are awesome. i was using them for awhile. i put the bushings that came with them in some regular indys and then put jimz speedbushings on the hybrids
it was amazing.
those jimz are now in randals on the same deck and the hybrids are gone
