    Default more stability

i have a hellcat w/ crails and right now im running white jimz. today was my first bombing sessions with my new setup and i thought the crails/jimz would be a step up from randals on a downhill board but to my dismay i kept getting wobbles on hills that i would easily do on randals. im getting some stuff off milehighskates soon so i was looking at getting some new bushings that would make my crails more stable. i was thinking maybe jimz on bottom and yellow or black khiro barrel on top? anyone have better suggestions? keep in mind that i like very stable setups that wont be dead turning.

Try running the jimz all around just like you have it except in the back/bottom put a red khiro barrel.

I run that exact setup in bears and its secks.

thats odd that your set up is like that

ive ridden my friend's hellcat with crails and white jimz and its a stable mofo, then again i was only going mid 20's

but i feel more comfortable with my 50/50 randals with stock bushings with the back hangar flipped, ive taken it up to the 30's (which is about as fast as ive ever gone in my young downhill career) and it was comfortably stable and turny with my trucks medium tight

ive heard that crails with the jimz bushings are a great combo. thats actually the same setup i'm getting. but with flys. maybe put a black jimz bushing on the bottom of your back truck or both. the black one is 85a. but how fast were you going? it might take some time getting used to your new setup though.

yea I had some random bushings I placed in my crail setup (randal yellows with paris reds) and I was use to that setup. Later I got my hands on some abec 11 81/84a bushings and threw them in there.. I fell twice when I went out to try it out. I guess I'm saying I wasn't too use to the setup, but now I'm more comfy and I couldn't be happier

Yeah, if you haven't used jimzs before it takes some getting used to. I posted a thread asking the same thing the day I tried my whites. I love them to death now.

    Exactly.

Changing your set up over and over is not going to make you better, there is no magic bullet. Just go skate and get used to the set up. Experience makes you better, not gear...

Try flipping your bottom (bigger) bushing. That worked for me. I like it a lot better.
The other way around I would get crazy wobbles at speed. I never fell, but I felt a lot more confident with a good setup.
BTW. Telling people to skate when they ask for help makes no sense. Having a good setup can do a lot to increase how fun your ride is, thus making it more likely that he'll ride it.

Crails with JimZ is a good set up. I like many others have that set up and can attest to it's stability.

It's not like he said, "Guys I'm trying to bomb hills on a 70's banana board with metal wheels, why isn't it working?"

But to try a set up once and say, "it's not working," is hardly giving it a shot. Thus my answer is, go skate it and become accustomed to it.

i used to run randals on my evo and was very confident at speeds w/ them. when i switched to crails, i experienced the same thing as you. wobbles on hills i used to bomb all the time. i just tightened my trucks up a tad and got comfortable w/ the crails. just give it time before you go off buying stuff.

exactly exactly.....I used to be super unstable on my Hyper carve...now i can hit high 30's with loose tracker darts....it does get squirrelly but i am so used to that board i can handle wobbles with ease.....so again get used to your board....#### if i had that set-up i would probably be able to break 40 before having to slide out.

have u tried using 10 mm grizzlies..and flipping the hanger?
red khiros are good for that setup.
its what i have, and it has not been a problem at all.
