well another thing about WD40 is that it drys out really quickly also so there can be pros and cons to it. if your bearings are wet use it but then you will have to wait till it drys and lube it. but if you use it as a lube it will hurt your bearings in long run because they dry out causeing more friction.
good initial post tho. ima go buy some dove or irish springs and do it.
what i do in my grizzlies is take a pencil and a razor, and scrape off a bunch of graphite. not a lot, but enough. makes it smooth but not like oily, and it lasts a really long time. well i havent had any sqeaks since i got it two months ago

Great thread! Big thanks to the OP for posting it. My street board with Krux trucks squeeks A LOT and this DIY looks like a good project to do sometime today or tomorrow to fix the squeek! Thanks!

I just did this a while ago right after posting my reply. Use as much as you like, the excess with all come out on it's own once you stand on the board and rock back and forth a bit. Got rid of the squeeks too! Really works.

I think it's gonna be long. Like thirty-seven feet.
I usually fill up the pivot cup about half way. Any excess will make its way out once you start riding. Don't be shy about the amount of shavings you put in.
I use a dot of Diaelectric grease for your spark plug wires or silicone grease for break parts and they are both designed for use on rubber plastic etc so you don't have to worry about the cups being desintegrated by petroleum based products
in fact the will help preserve the cups.
you can get a small tube of for under 2 bucks at the auto parts store and it will last almost forever if you just use it for lubing the piviot cups
