Re: Venom bushings?
have anyone tried venoms on Crails? I've noticed almost everybody run JimZs, does crails work better with larger bushings?
I'm considering to buy some barrels of all duros and mix 'till I find something comfortable.

Re: Venom bushings?
hey TVAR could you tell me if venoms would work well in Tracker Midtracks?
I was planning on getting 78a, but Im 170lbs so I'm not sure if that'll be too soft.

Re: Venom bushings?
those will be pretty darn turny. as said many times before, venoms lean like a bushing like 5-7 durometer lower. 90a bushings are plenty lean for me, and i weigh 135

yeah it takes some getting used to for me. It feels kinda twitchy for me but that's probably because of how I ride. I'm trying to get used it so if I ever try out precisions i can get used to the feel, but then again i've never ridden precisions before so i cant say.

Re: Venom bushings?
Well well, I got me some Venoms all the way over here in the UK. They are a damned strange bushing that's for sure!
I'm running a 90a bottom and 85a top (200lb guy), both from the downhill packs. These have been put in place of 88a Holey Red bushings trimmed to fit Randals.
Well the lean is the same, or maybe even deeper, but they feel proper hard in the middle. It's like having cranked down trucks in terms of the resistance, but then they just can't stop leaning! It's madness! Much MUCH firmer than the black JimZ I got in the same order.
I think I likes them! Makes the deck super lively with a nice deep turn, which is pretty much what I wanted out of em.
My friend picked up some 93a standard packs and those things are HARD! but yet again, they turn super deep! It was kinda freaky being on his board, it almost felt like it wanted to chuck you off because the return to center was so strong!
Yay Venoms!

Re: Venom bushings?
gavmck, running same, took a bit to get used to but like more each ride.
tried them on bears 852 and chargers and fastracks.
cant decide if i like them on the bears yet.
liked allot on the chargers, the fastracks felt good but i didn't give them enough of a chance ,and will try that set up again..nothing seems to feel right in the trackers except their own giant stock bushing.
also did the greens and felt like i would almost get tossed the lean and rebound is great.
but really nice for 200 pound guy.
i think they also feel best with flat washers instead of the cups.
hopefully looking forward to a stim shape ?
great product zak

Re: Venom bushings?
Are these available to local(non web-based) skate shops yet. I took a set into my local shop to let the owner check some out. After the super scientific duro test of the 90a barrell (yes, he bit it) he said "it feels harder than 90a". Then he nearly s*** when he rode some set up.

As for Venoms in Crails, I really like the 93 in mine.

Re: Venom bushings?
I just received the 85a Standards for the Paris 180s on my dervish. After reading a lot about the controversial flat washer vs cup washer debate, I still did not know what to do, so I sent the almighty MHMark an email asking him. He recommended flat on top and the biggest cup on the bottom. So that is what I did. I tightened the nut down so it was flush with the kingpin. I don't know if I should tighten it more because it seemed like I had tightened it a lot to get it that far. I have never replaced bushings before, so I don't have much knowledge on the subject.
So anyways, I replaced my year-old stock Paris bushings, that I found to be mutilated when I took them out, with the 85a Standard Venoms. It's like 20 degrees today and kinda wet, so I only went out for a little while. But holy crap. It's just so...different. I can't even describe it. When i lean, it just TURNS. And I finally understand what pumping is.
Here are some pictures of the bushing setup. I love these bushings and I only bought one set so I really don't want to rip them. Opinions on how tight the nut is and the washers I used are appreciated.
But seriously...it's like a whole new board.

just wondering if other people get these awkward wobbles.. i think they're just too reboundy for my liking. good ankle workout though.
dude that's totally what it feels like to me. I'm trying to adjust to these though and I've been getting much better. I'm slowly working my way back up to when I used jimz's. But if I ever need to immediately go back to speed I can always swap back and be even more stable because my ankles are stronger.

I think they fit the bottom or "f" side of the comp 2s really well but from experience they have a tendency to slip out of the top ("R" side) bushing seat and the poor venom looked like a dog got a hold of it and shredded it apart.
Venoms on bottom are amazing though, something the fits a little better on top

Re: Venom bushings?
Got some on Bears and love 'em. "Stoplight Special:"
Front: 90a bottom, 85a top.
Rear: 93a bottom, 90a top.
For me, running the same duro on one truck gets sorta flighty, but I've only tried it with 90a and 93a.
