i usually just flip the cup washer, ive had the best results w/ that on most bushings

OK. the black randal bushings I have are nice and soft, and have this amazing feel to them, really turny but real stable at the same time.cant really be any more wordy than that, they just feel nicer to me than venoms.
(they are not the same as the rock hard randal barrels, ive got some of those but never tried em, cos i dont like hard bushings.
The venoms just feel stiff to me, not as responsive

Re: Venom bushings?
90a venom barrels make crails so nice, like they actually turn, cant wait to take them up to speed on my MM, i just hope they can be stable.

Re: Venom bushings?
Hey all,
I've just finished reading through the 30+ pages of this thread and can say that there is plenty of interesting stuff! It seems like the the overall consensus is that the 85a/90a combo is the most popular since the Venoms actually feel like a much lower duro.
It also seems that many people are running double barrels. Regarding this i have the following queries:
- Why double barrels in the first place?
- Which washers are the best in this situation on the top? The flipped cupped ones or flat ones?
Also,
- Do the downhill packs have just two of the same barrels found in the standard pack?
- Do the super-carve packs just contain two angled bushings found in the stardard pack or are we talking about something completely different?
If anybody could spill any light on this it would be great!
Cheers!
Chris

Re: Venom bushings?
To answer your question the downhill pack is two barrels that can be seen in the standard pack while the super carves are the cone bushings seen in the standards.
I can imagine it would be a huge PITA if they made the barrels and cones used in the super carve and down hill packs different for what is used for the standard packs.

Stability. More bushing area, less lean although venoms can lean nice..

personally i prefer the provided venom washers. other like flat washers

Yes, a DH pack has 2 barrels which can be found in a standard pack.
- Do the super-carve packs just contain two angled bushings found in the stardard pack or are we talking about something completely different?
DH Carve and Standard packs contain the same bushings, just in different shape combos
DH-2 barrels, Carve-2 Conicals, Standard-1 barrel+1 conical
If anybody could spill any light on this it would be great!
Cheers!

Re: Venom bushings?
Hi all,
I posted on here a while back with a question about Gullwing Sidewinders + Venoms. Well, I tried it, so now I report back: Sidewinders + Venoms = sex!
I bought a few different duros and shapes and tried around with what felt best, and for my weight (140lbs), I ended up using 90a barrels on the bottoms in the back and 81a barrels on the bottoms in the front. Venoms are taller than the stock orange bushings that came in my Sidewinders, so I kept the conical orange top bushings all around. Later on I'm either going to cut down some conical Venoms or buy some Bones hardcore bushings to put in the tops.
I like really, really responsive rides, so I love this set-up now. On my 31" S9 Maccas, I can make a U-turn on a sidewalk. Or a full 360 if I want to. The new bushings make this ride ultra-turnable and it feels more responsive, like my bushings actually have some life in them now. I can carve up a storm; my board goes in whatever direction I want it to now, at any angle, even the most extreme turns. And it still is more than stable enough for me to push and feel comfortable on.
Venoms also brought my Dervish back to life (85a barrels on bottom, 81a cones on top), and I put some in a shlongboard I made that doesn't have any dewedging, and the super squishy 78a standard set allows the board to still turn just fine. I'm sold. I have a new bushing preference.

Hey dirtdynamics - thanks for the low down on the bushing packs!

not a good idea.
your venoms might crack & split in half..

yeah, i use the stock randal bushing washer, flipped. i've found you can get quite a bit more turn out of them that way and it stops any movement, if any.

Re: Venom bushings?
HAHAHAHAH
I forgot that te old randal washers were cups.
I've been imagining a flat washwer being flipped and have been CRACKIGN up

Re: Venom bushings?
Currently, im running dervish flex 2 w/ some gullwing chargers, stock bushings. i weight about 120lbs; so far im looking at the 81a supercarve. i mostly cruise, carve, dance, minor sliding.
would it be ineffective for me to just get one pack, and put one of each conical bushing on the top of each truck? whats the point of both being conical? does it make a difference putting a conical bushing on the bottom (a little unsure since theres currently a "barrel" bushing on the bottom of my charger). i apologize for the newbyness and if the questions were answered before-- i really didn't want to go through the 30 some pages in this thread.

the supercarves should work, when both are conical it takes less pressure to carve on them, at the price of less rebound and stability.
I haven't gotten my venoms in the mail yet, but from what I've heard, they tend to feel softer than other bushings of the same duro, you may want to keep that in mind.

Re: Venom bushings?
I just got a Ceviche and I'm looking to put some Venoms in it. What setup should I go with? I'll be using the board for mostly crusing, pumping, maybe some ollies
thanks

Re: Venom bushings?
get the DH pack
if you weigh around 150lbs get 85a , if you way over 180 get 90a , if you weigh more than that get 93a
