Re: Venom bushings?
Just got a set of the new bear hangers, pretty shallow bushing seat, and I put double barrel venoms in it, I love the feeling of them so far, but I can kinda feel the bushing loosing its spot in the seat, anyone have suggestions from experience?

Re: Venom bushings?
Anyone dropped these in a set of 1052's? I get all sorts of weird clicking and popping noises. Only happens under my weight on the board. Kingpin is tight and the kp hole in the baseplate is new and not wallered out.
Any ideas?

Re: Venom bushings?
Doesn`t the Grizzies have a very non restrictive bushing seat? I suspect the larger Venom Eliminators would be a better match for them...

Re: Venom bushings?
with bear grizzlies you need to run flat washers on the bottom and flip the top washer to eliminate that clicking

Re: Venom bushings?
I couldn't see them touching. But I will try some flat washers, I was thinking of that last night. Just didn't feel like taking it apart again.
Blix - You are right, the pumpkins work well, just not much lean for initiating stand ups. Trying to get a little more lean with the same stability.

Re: Venom bushings?
pumpkins are sh!t
how would venom supercarves work on grizzlies

Correct. Pretty non existent.
Big soft bushings tighten everything up nicely.
You reckoned right. These eliminators will be a good fit.

The FAT Venom (mystery shape) that I am currently running in my back Splitfire on my Fullbag HS is wonderful. I would show it to you but Zak said NO! Soo too bad so sad.

Re: Venom bushings?
I have my venom 93a DH in my old gen grizzlies and I'm not having any problems. I prefer them in the grizzlies than in randals.

Re: Venom bushings?
For my downhill boards i've been loving a lemon abec jimz bottom with a huge washer with a yellow front and a green back. For my Slalom board I use a abec stim bottom with a blue front and a yellow back. I like my boards to turn.

I'd like to remind everyone that any size bushings can be made from 77mm abec11 strikers with a hole saw, as big or bigger bigger than Stims/Elims or any other available or soon to be available bushings out there. You can make them with any shape, size and characteristics you want. They can fit the Bear bushing seat exactly. Now look, the urethane in Venoms is really good, but the basic Abec11 urethane is also really good. You don't have to passively wait for the bushing gods to smile down upon you with the shape that perfectly fits your needs. You can make it yourself. Ciao amici.

True story.
This works, for anyone having trouble with clicking venoms + bears.
sooo what are you wearing?

Re: Venom bushings?
Am I the only one who finds that a single venom barrel is the same height as the washer+khiro barrel that came stock on my bears? Running a washer under the tall venom barrel will mean that you have to crank down a bit on your kingpin for a bit of preload just to make the hanger sit in the pivot at its proper angle.
Also, as far as this "clicking" goes, I have found that the only clicking noise I get on my trucks is when the inner diameter of the bushing is significantly larger than the kingpin's diameter. When you hit the point of zero lean transferring from one side to the other, the bushings actually shift sideways, as well as the washer. The clicking comes from the washer sliding across the baseplate and hitting the kingpin. This also contributes to the "dead spot" that people talk about when they don't have trucks with undersized bushing seats like paris that force the bushing to squeeze around the kingpin a little just to make it sit flat.
Kingpin diameter is about .370"
The Venom bushings I own have an ID of about .390"
On some trucks, I use a Bones Hardcore on top, and since these require some force to install, they eliminate that slop.
And due to the fact that I don't run a bottom washer on my Bears with double barrel venoms, there is no clicking noise and I do run a cupped top washer

Re: Venom bushings?
I run a yellow/green doube barrel of front and a red/green double barrel in back on my 1052s unflipped with a flat washer on bottom and a cup washer on top and that seems to keep everything nice and snug and stable at speed but still turny. I don't get any clicking noises either.

Re: Venom bushings?
i just went for my first quick ride in 09 and i was blown away by my venom barrels again. of course it was great to ride again, no matte the bushings. but it was so reboundy i was totally blown away. pumping my hellcat through the streets, dodging peds, pulling crazy speedchecks instead of footbreaking. im in love all over again. long live longboarding!! and venoms just make it better!
hellcat + randal 180s + blue kryptos + venoms = best most versatile setup ever.
it does it all. i can fly down a hill at 40mph, do mad standup slides, pump flats till my ankles fall off, commute long distances, dodge pedestrians, and carry it around for long periods of time if i have to. i love this setup so much. i might sell my other two boards, hellcat is the only one i ride anyways. its too good.
