    Default truck play

    Advice needed.
I have an Avenger set up with Bear Smokies, and Orang Heats. Its all brand new.
The trucks have a lot of free play or slop even though they are not set too lose.

I had the same problem with the Grizzlys on my demonseed, but flipped the kingpin and shimmed it with a cut up cokecan to fill the gap between the side of the kingpin and the hole in the baseplate. Those trucks are now so sweet and progressive with no play what so ever.

I was going to do the same with the smokies, but due to the way the bearings fit in you can't fully insert the kingpin and then build the truck up, as the hanger and bearings wont fit over the end of the king pin.

The trucks look awesome, and the cnc quality is really good, but honestly my gullwing bombers and chargers are a better ride as they have no play at all due to the way the kingpin is fitted with an 'interference fit', and they are less than half the price.

I can't believe these Bears are made like this for the price they are.
If anyone has cured this problem please let me know.

I feel like this at the mo

The play is when standing on the board, in the normal straight ahead position, there is play in the trucks before the bushings compress, which is caused by the kingpin moving in the baseplate.

If you turn the board over and grab the hanger with one hand and hold the board still with the other and wiggle the hanger you can actually see the kingpin nut move side to side in the slot it sits in in the baseplate.
