Very interesting. So I have untill tommorow to get them for
    $166. Very tempting.

Are you springing for a set ichi?

Or is the Project speedboard going to bust the budget?

I'm on the fence. I really can't afford them, but they sound
great and would be cool to have on the Super LCG ultralight.

THOSE would bust the budget. I'd have to wait for the
bearings and wheels I want. And geezerized randal's are lighter (right?)
    and less expensive.

Those trucks are even more expensive than that high tech board!
Then again, so are the bearings I want.

So I dunno. What to do?

it's killing me that the offer had to come NOW of all times. I cant afford it either with all the other commitments I have. perhaps during Xmas or something. As far as the weight differences between geezer vs jimz hangers, I couldnt tell you. If youd like to invest in geezer, that sounds like a solid plan, but I think im going to wait around for people to report in JimZ's new hangers.

Sorry, I was not provided any pictures, and I'm told any pictures circulating right now on the web (the silver ones) of his hangers are over a year old.

ichi so are you saying that he's got new hangars out that are
different than the ones in the pics we've seen?

What are the differences? I did see in the e mail in your post that
they offer a black hanger as well as the silver now.

But when you said that the pics are a year old, does that imply
that the new ones are different? I'd want to see them before
plunking down that kind of money.

I'm sure they are great, though. Someone SHOULD get them.
And post pics and a review here.

There prolly never gonna be $166 again after today.
If the e mail is to believed anyway.

    Sounds good.

    But I don't like heavy.
If that's true, I'll go with geezerized R2's with 8mm axles and lathe
cut green stims. I like how R2's are the lightest randal's.
And I don't have to buy them today to pay less than $166.

The Jim Z's sure do look cool though.
And they are prolly THE TICKET for downhill racing.

So for downhill speedboard racers get them now while the price
    is lower.

I have a set paid for, Ive ridden them and then feel great. Striaght hard easily replaceable axels...mmmmmmmm. What do you do when you bend your geezers?....get 10mm jimz and never bend one. Im going with 8mm but they are easy to replace and Im all about supporting friends and countrymen alike. That 85mm truck sounds interesting...can you say Kebbek slalom? And whats heavy if your already running a flushcut and flywheels?....a cpoule oz, no biggie. I want smooth turns and great traction....

    Yeah, ok you're right.
It says 97mm flywheels prototypes. And then you can see an 81 on the
    wheel (for 81a duro).

But then the caption for the other photo says 200mm x 10mm.
Meaning a 200mm axle length and a 10mm axle diameter.
Which is awesome. But in the photo itself the hangar says
"Jim Z 170" which would make it a 170mm axle.
    So what gives?

As for baseplates, you use those hangars with Randal DH baseplates.
I don't know if they would work with R2 or any other base plates.

I'm not sure exactly what the canadian to us dollar ratio is, but
in ichi's post he says that they would have been $200 canadian or
$166 us, so does that help you?

thats right, there are 2 different axel lengths(174,200), 2 different diameters(8mm,10mm) and one body that fits all axels(170). If you look in the pic above you can see the axel that gets placed in there, the axels are all the same in the middle of the hanger and are all machined down to size on the ends. I think im right.....ive seen em in person enough times....you want a burly turck for downhill...this is it.

Hmmm, seems like I'm gonna be busting my budget towards spring...
Now, I have a question that seemed like it belongs in the topic: Is the precision baseplate going to be compatible with the flushcut? Or are they gonna make a new and even better JimZ pro model?

I think the baseplate Jim Z is going for is basically the same as a Randal
DH, as it will be 35 degree geometry....
"Just" precise and without the tabs on that are on each side of the Randal
    DH Plates...

Well I think you need those tabs for it to work on the flushcut, don't you?
But I don't Jim Z would come out with a precision baseplate for his hangar
that wouldn't work with the Flushcut ('cuase after all it's his pro model).

Thanks for explaining about the 170mm hangar body Civ.
I thought 170mm was the axle length, but it makes sense that it's the
hangar size and they can put in different length axles.

    The axles are replacable right?
So can you change the axle length easily just by unscrewing your
174's and screwing in some 200's?
That would be really cool and useful.
