    Default Bought more Indy's

All this talk of trucks I had to go out and buy another set of Indy's. I had a set of Ventures left over from my last shortboard. Good trucks. Just way to narrow for me. So If anyone wants some hardly used Ventures (used mostly on ramp) let me know.

Anyway I bought some Indy 149's. This is my second pair. My favorite for pool and park and ramp. I always go back to Indy it seems. Skated a little ditch with them today. Fookin' brilliant! They felt so good. I just had to share.

i ride 149s, they rock. unlike 169s they can actually turn really sharp, but can be tightened to do pools. goodness, i thought i was the onlyone out there who perfered the 149s to the 169s.

and they are the perfects size for ditches.

149's are nice, as are 169's ... but it really depends on the deck, doesn't it?

ya, but no. i mean, your supposed to have 169s on anything 10 1/2 inches or over, and 149s on the pigs that are than 10 inchs, but most pigs lying within the range that both trucks can line the wheels up with the wheel wells, it really is a desicion of prefrence. personally, i perfer the turnyness of a smaller truck, and for crass, the 149 is perfect, its more turny than the sixtrack, and tracker 150s are too turny since there for GS. but of course trackers are mile better as far as slalom, and longboards, plus really wide trucks, and the sixtrack owns on the 169, but the 149 is better then the tracker contemporary, and it just right.

I'm just saying I like Indy's. I've tried lots of different trucks but for a conventional pivot truck I liked the Indy's the best. Never cared for trackers. They never felt right to me. I didn't care for how they turn. Same with Gullwing. Ventures and Thunders wear always good but I usually felt like I'd rather be on Indy's when riding those. It's just my personal preference. A bit heavy but great trucks.

I got the new ones for my 36" Madrid. The Madrid is popsicle shaped 8 1/4 wide. I'm riding a set on my Carve 39 also. I've got an old pair of 169's on my old SMA (my very first longboard).

How wide are the Indy 149 hangers?

I just always liked my Indy's.

As far as the width goes? I'm not exactly sure. The axles come pretty flush on a 8.5 deck.

    149's up to 10.5"?
Dude, what kinda wheels are you running? Must be some real wide wheels or something...
149's are almost exactly 8.5 axletip to axle tip.....

I'll run 149s on 8.5 up to almost 9" boards
    169s 9-10"
    215s 10" and up
But I am usually running centerset wheels that don't protrude much or any past the axle tip..
Here's a handy chart of Indy Hanger Width

    indy 215 = 7.10" = 182mm
    indy 169 = 6.30" = 160mm
    indy 159 = 6.00" = 152mm (although these are discontinued, i think)
    indy 149 = 5.70" = 145mm
    indy 139 = 5.40" = 137mm
    indy 129 = 5.10" = 130mm
    indy 109 = 3.90" = 100mm

All sizes of RTX turn the same as Indys. It is now misleading to say that Trackers turn different than Indys.

Stay tuned for 149mm Tracker RTX. I hope to also convince them to make 160s.

Axle length means nothing, especially for trucks that are liable to have them askew in the hanger (thus leaving more axle on one end than the other). They should always be measured by hanger width.

my 169's rule. I love em. I have some trackers on my street board. They really dont turn half as smooth as indy's. I've tried most trucks over the years but always return to indy's

Stoked as well about the 149 rtx... got a deck with a set of 149 RTs on it, one of those up front will help it out quite a bit........

dude, you should come down here too. i've got hills that have never been riden top to bottom. people have cracked heads, broken arms, snapped ankles...hills that are not for the faint of heart. and of course the ussual run of masterful ditches and a spatepark or two.
