    they say they need to be changed as they wear, but is this normal?

    Well, usually people expect things to last a bit longer then six months. Esp. at the price they paid for originals.

    That's a scary break. I rebuilt mine after a rain ride, and in only 2 months of riding them, they were already gouged and scratched where the two cams meet. I think Original might have to do some perfecting to the Nylon to get them half as reliable as urethane bushings. I realize they will never even be that reliable, but I'd like to see them last a little longer then they do. My $.02.
