    Default Bushing Questions

I'm not sure of the exact physics of bushings so I'll ask a few questions any maybe you guys can answer, eh?

1.) Alrighty, why do stims rock so much? Shape or 'thane?
2.) Which bushing takes on more pressure in a turn?
3.) If given a set of bones hardcore (or similar shaped bushings), would reversing where the bushings are supposed to be have any adverse effects?

I've got a set of Pivots I want to try and juice up with some new bushings, see what happens. I want my front truck turny and rear truck just a little less turny; but I want to accomplish this only using soft bushings.

Stims rock because of shape AND 'thane.

Bones Hardcores will improve your trucks nicely. If you don't want to spend that much, something like the aftermarket Indy bushings (NOT the stock ones) would be a good choice. Also worth considering are DLX Supercush and Tracker's Hourglass. The latter are quite soft, and would probably be best on the front.

2.) Which bushing takes on more pressure in a turn?

    hmmm, lets see..

the bottom (closest to the baseplate) has to hold up your body weight plus the weight of the deck and baseplates. its also subjected to a crushing force from two levers, the the hangar and the deck, in a turn.

the top (farthest from the baseplate) doesn't support your weight and in a turn it is subjected to a crushing force but its between the hangar and the top cup washer which because of the small size of the washer wouldn't seem like much force.

that was hard to think of. gotta cut back on the Guinness when I think physics

Stock ones are overly stiff and have very little rebound.

DLX Supercush are probably made in the same factory as Indy aftermarket bushings, btw.
