Alright, I recently got some Kahalanis and rode them around with the Khiro bushings they came with. I didn't really have a hill to test them on that was close to me so I was just riding them flat land to get used to the feel. I wasn't really impressed but there wasn't anything wrong with them, they just didn't feel like anything special. So I tried some different bushing combinations and still nothing really sparked. I figured it was because I was riding flat ground and they were down-hill trucks.
So I went to my local mountain for a few runs with a good group of people thinking this is where they would really shine. After a few runs I kept getting speed wobbles. I couldn't figure it out because I never got speed wobbles with my Bears, so I adjusted my setup and did all kinds of stuff. Eventually I gave up and became very worried that I had wasted my money.
I figured out the reason I got speed wobbles with them was because the way the Khiros fit in the seat they can only move quick and sharp, otherwise they don't move. After figuring this out I put some silicone oil on both sides of my bushings and inside the pivot cup. These trucks came ALIVE! They pivot so smoothly and actually return to center now.
Moral of the story: If you own Kahalani trucks you need to oil up your bushings and pivot cup a little bit.

any specific silicone oil?
I assume this will be best done prior to any ride or when the bushing dries up..

I've never tried silicon oil, but I have a big tub of bearing grease from the hardware store. After trying it in one set of trucks, I can never go back. Now, the first thing I do with a new set of trucks is lube the pivots, bushing seats and washers. Anything thick and greasy will work.
Re: If you're running Khiros and Kahalanis read this!
It could, it doesn't work on bears though because the bushing just squishes out of the seat and it feels like sh!t. I just oil it when it starts to squeek.
