Default Baseplate modification for JimZ hangars

Specifically, Randal 42* plates.

I'm pretty sure this is the combo I want to use.

If anyone's done this before and can share what worked or didn't work, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. I have a fairly complete shop and access to most tools necessary for this job, I think.

Also, any pictures of the modifications necessary, thanks!

did the same for my talons, just drill into the pivot with a 1/2 in drill bit so it's deep enough to fit the JimZ pivot, and replace the pivot cup with some nylon tubing.

Does the nylon pivot from the Speedparts.ca website http://www.speedparts.ca/html/replacement_parts.html catalog fit? I ordered two white and two black nylon pivots.

Mods are needed? Just put mine on - broke a pivot tube switching to a 50 degree plate (need to order more), but just cut the bottom from a large, hard pivot cup and it works fine. What does not fit?

Well truth be told I haven't tried it with the 42* plates just yet. I only have one right now, the other is at the shop, and I didn't want to start touching them yet until I was positive it's what I wanted to do.

So you just cut the bottom from a regular pivot so the full pivot size can sit in the baseplate pivot? hmm...

The tubes that come with them are better - and they should fit without any mods, but a stock pivot will work and it's less snug if you cut off the bottom. Side benefit seems that the softer pivot takes a little "twitch" out.

Which are the soft and which are the hard? I think I'd like the less twitchy feel, since I ride softer bushings and I'll be riding a truck with a bearing in the hangar for the first time.

Compared to the Delrin tubes that come with the hangars, everything is "soft"; the large Khiros fit; the "hard" are soft enough, but the soft work (they just don't last as long).
