I'm comfortable with my boardbuilders suggestions of Randal 180's W/ 42 degree base plates. The bushings, I can't recall name, were not in stock and apperently his supplier is waiting on them but what I do know is they are $25 bushings. I was checking reviews on Randal 180's with stock bushings and everyone said they were NOT for DH'n over 35 mpg's. Whatever the bushings are that we are waiting for, maybe one of you know which one I'm talking about, do they make the diference that are worth using Randals, or should I be looking at something totaly different. I'm 6-2 and weigh 250 lbs +/-, +++ and am wanting to go faster and don't get down as low as I'd like in the turns do to large growth on my front mid section.
Sounds like Venom Bushings. And I will say that they are great and reboundy, Im 100 lbs lighter than you, but have several duro's and they all seem solid as a rock (that's a good thing)

You want precision trucks, Bear smokeys come to mind. Kahalanis would be my choice. Anyway if you don't want to spend crazy $$$, go Bear grizzly or Randal DH.
That's my take on your situation. Then again, what the fuck do I know anyway.
Keep your gullwings and just run'em w/out bushings. Have a great time in the great northwest call me when you get back. If you do get to MaryHill Loops, keep your Dope in the car. (the board)

I'm looking for opinions from those who actually ride their longboards, especially over 10 mpg's

Ouch! You know about my physician's note that keeps from low speed bombing when the humidty gets above 80%. And also!!! I believe I hit 13 MPH last time I skated with you. Where's some respect for that!!!??? That's it, I'm buying a set Bear smokeys (that will never be skated!!)

Your a good sport. You have enough inventory to open a store down here. I didn't want to sa where cause someone may take our idea. Just needing something else to do. Kelder
the stupid hurts my brain.
texasbomber: I can tell you're from texas. only thing that comes from texas are steers, queers, and gear whores.
Kelbobber: The reviews you read were for 50 degree randal 180s which are carving trucks and do feel somewhat unstable at over 40 for inexperienced skaters. However, on 42 plates you should be more than ok, they are great downhill trucks, and in fact- James Kelly placed second at Maryhill on randal 42s..... throw some black jimz in there and you should be good to go.
Buying precision trucks while still learning is just dumb, you don't know what you're looking for in a truck, and won't get any added benefit from them over cast trucks. Especiallly a truck with spherical bearings (smokeys), they will in fact feel more unstable due to the increased responsiveness.
ps. My boards have all gone over 10 mpg's as they aren't gas poweredd.......if you mean mph, then yeah I've gone 50 mph over that.

If, however, it's the latter, save your money for travel costs and race entry fees. Riding different terrain and with other skaters will make you a better/faster skater than dropping a grand on a toy." - Mile High Mark
