didn't break it, it's just fractured and may pose a risk to my health when I hit that next big bump. Anyhow, I'm not sure how it got fractured... probably some dude I let ride my longboard for a little bit while I wasn't watching. Hmm, I'll never know.
new, hence the aluminum baseplate. I've hit the NCDSA and slalomspot forums looking for problems with the seismics, and hardly any have shown besides people not knowing righty-tighty, etc. and putting in new springs.
the kingpin on my 30* trucks is stuck i cant even loosen them. i dont want to force it anymore because it might brake. will this cause my base plate to brake if its to thight? im sorry for being such a noob but i just want to know.
why do you want to move around your kingpin anyways? Unless you're messing around with springs, don't mess with the kingpin, no reason too. Just make sure it's tightened down from time to time by checking the amount of pressure the safety clip has on it.
If you really want to remove the kingpin, take off all the preload on your springs or else you'll have a bit[/b]ch of a time getting 'em back on (moreso). After that, take some needle nose pliers and remove the safety clip on the nut side of your trucks. Following that, remove the kingpin (lefty-loosey). Good luck getting the hanger back on, it's a pain in the a[/b]ss. I stand on my hangers to get them back on with the spring tension. Kinda ackward trying to thread that thing...
i bopught some composite ones today off ebay. i guess they are the old ones. this is my first set so i have no idea about them. what is the upgrade you guys have been talking about? something to do with the saftey clip?
