    Default DIY Anodizing Trucks Help?

Ok i read several online articles dealing with paintball guns and various other parts for automobiles and i have most of the equipment (i.e. buckets, battery charger, tons of baking soda, dye, etc.) Only thing i really need is the Battery Acid or sulfuric Acid. Now my only concern and question to you guys is handling the acid after im finished. How do i dispose of it. Will i need to take it to a local dump or can i neutralize is so it can be deposed of through the sink? I know a few of you know more about this than I thanks for your help.

I wouldn't even bother messing with anodizing. It's difficult and very dangerous. There are a few places that would do it cheap, though.

Yeah that's right. But it is only mildly basic so I don't know how much of it you'd need to neutralize a strong acid like sulfuric acid. Honestly, though, I'd leave the reactions to someone else.

Bring it to some chemical storing area.

It also depends how concentrated it is

Acid can simply be diluted and poured down the drain. That is, run the water full speed and SLOWLY pour the acid down. Acid is not magic and diluting it rapidly diminishes its harmfullness. You could also use something basic if you wanted to neutralize it first.

Tums: the calcium carbonate will reduce the acidity. then water it down and pour it down the drain.

if you care anything about the trees out side .. dont tip the acid down the drain.
but for all the inviro arguments .it easy for the city council to track it to your drain = busted = big $$

its probably safer to take it to a place that does it for you,
