    Default Exkates

My friend wants me to build him a board, under 32 inches in length, and I'm going to say no more than 6.5 inches in width. He also wants super wide trucks, but ones that still turn, to give the board a kind of unique style. So, I figure I'd go with a torsion type of thing. Now I know originals would work, but those are hard to deal with (weird bolt sizes), so I was wondering about exkates. From some I hear exkates are extremely turny, much moreso than say, randals, but from some I hear they're just different, not really much more turny. So, do you think the 201 exkates would provide a turny enough ride for like...a 25 inch, 6.5 inch wide board? Or should I stick with the Original S10s? Thanks

6.5" is really narrow, why such wide trucks? I would get Exkate 101's for a small board and it will turn A LOT depending on the bushing duros.

He says he wants wide trucks. It's just a stylistic looks thing...

When his foot bites his wheel and he slams his face into the ground, he will get some stylistic road rash. Why don't you go with bakus?

Bakus would look hot on a board like that, and will turn on a DIME.

What's the advantage of Bakus over Exkates? The different drilling pattern seems very annoying.....

Also, I've already thought about him hitting his foot on the trucks. I'm going to inform him that wide trucks on such a small board is a technically unwise decision.

    But.....Exkates?

I don't know of any, other than aesthetics. In fact, I think the Exkates are FAR more stable at speed than Baku trucks.

Wait, you can "tighten" the Bakus with their kingpin bolt adjustment, and you cannot with an Exkate, where you hace to switch bushings. Bakus have a funky mounting pattern, though.

Baku s have a larger hole pattern because the spring mechanism they employ is too large to fit within the confines of a standard baseplate.

Have you looked at http://www.insectskateboards.com/boards.html ? They have 3 nice boards from 32 - 36 inches.

    siesmics

get em wide to be "cool", or get them skinny to match your skinny board.
    they turn plenty tight.
get a quick-quick combo, none of that stable baseplate in back crap
