    Default Redrilling oldschool plates?

Better to redrill the baseplate or the board?

I've got some Old School (circa 85) Indy's with the Old School bolt pattern I want to put on a deck with New School pattern drilled in.

Unless the board is composite I would just re drill the deck, its easier and you wont lose the cool independant casting on the baseplate.

if the board is simply wood with no fiberglass or anything then yeah go for it cuz itll be easier than drilling the baseplate

That was what I was thinking. Just wanted to hear someone else say it before I got out the drill.

Also what is the best method for redrilling when you move your trucks forward?

I've got a pool/ditch board that I'd like to move the trucks forward about 1/2 inch forward. I was thinking I'd drill through the old school holes on my trucks that have both mounting sizes. Then move them forward to the New school holes and drill the others.

    Any suggestions?

square up a riserpad or old baseplate where you want it to go. Clamp it down and drill through da holes.

and be sure the forward holes are aligned with the rear ones.
You can do this by using a thread passing over the forward and the rear holes. Through this method you can see if all the holes are aligned...

bolt the 2 baseplates together then drill. that seems like it would be very precise

Rather than drill the old baseplates, how about trading them with someone who has the exact opposite problem? I believe I have some new school indy baseplates that I'd trade. If not, I'm sure you could find someone who does.
