    Default Octane "Virage" CNC trucks

Ive been working on these in secret for a while and finally got my pre-prod sets ready for final testing. These are CNC'd, using a regular Khiro Kingpin and Small Pivot cup. Venom Bushings....

Finish is either polished or sandblasted. They are specifially for slalom and LDP (Long Distance Pumping) so have two axle widths. The axles fit the 'wrong' way round so that the bearings always sit on true 8mm axles, not thread.

The rear truck has the axles in line with the king pin and a VERY angled pivot, designed to replicate what slalomers are currently achieving through massive wedging.

A downhill hanger is next in line....

They look like you've done a nice job.
I like the idea you have with the axles.

Yes! The Bolt can go either way.

They hangars were not designed to be flipped, but they can be, with no change of angle of the hangar as the bushings are centered on the line of the pivot....but the axle position will change. On the rear you can see what happens (to be honest I cant see why any would do that on the rear...) On the front a similar thing happens but with less drastic consequences.

I have found that buy seating the bushings nicely in the hangar the amount of lateral movement is reduced, and combined with accurate CNCing they feel very precise.

I wasn't referring to the hangers, but the kingpins. As configured, the threads will enlarge the kingpin bore over time.

I agree, but bear in mind that the alluminium (aluminum) is a very nice strong grade used in the oil industry. So wear in the axle holes in the hangar and the kingpin should be less of an issue than with some softer grades of ally.

The trick, as always is to specify strong, but not brittle stock.

Now hurry up w/that longboard version.
I respect that you designed, planned then produced.

The kingpin is the bolt that holds hanger to baseplate. The thread should be facing up and out of the hanger, not lodged into the baseplate. By wiggling through normal use the soft aluminum baseplate will slowly get gouged by the hard steel kingpin.

Yeeah, I DO know what a kingpin is... he he ...doh!

As for the way the bolt goes in I know what your saying..people have the choice. Slalomers often crank down the bushings which would expose thread that way round, but I can see why you would suggest the other way. Kinda like the way people switch the randal kingpins round.

I have never experienced the wear you mention, though see how it could happen.

Mind you I have never broken a kingpin and Im not light. Or a particularly smooth rider.

haha, yeah I have definitely seen this type of wear in many many trucks. It is just a good choice to give skaters.
